GNAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #12

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kathleen Rodriguez, New England College (Sr., C)

Senior center Kathleen Rodriguez put together an impressive week for New England College this week as the Pilgrims played to a 2-0 record. She averaged a double-double with 25.0 points and 11.5 rebounds per game and shot an incredible 88.9 percent (24-for-27) from the floor. Rodriguez opened the week with 18 points and nine rebounds in a six-point win over Regis on Tuesday (Jan. 30). She went 8-for-11 (72.7 percent) from the field in that contest. However, it was her performance in a win over Mitchell on Saturday (Feb. 3) that really stood out. She was a perfect 16-for-16 (100.0 percent) shooting, racking up 32 points and 14 rebounds.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Grace Ramsdell, Saint Joseph's (So., F)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) forward Grace Ramsdell helped the Monks pick up two GNAC victories this week, averaging 24.0 points and 10.5 rebounds. She collected career-highs in points and rebounds against Rivier on Tuesday (Jan. 30), with 32 and 14, respectively. She followed up that game with a 16-point, seven board performance against Lasell on Friday (Feb. 3). She also had two steals against the Lasers.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus - Produced a well-rounded week as Albertus went 1-1. Averaged 15.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 2.5 blocks, and 1.5 steals per contest.

Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria - Averaged a double-double in three contests for Anna Maria. Produced 19.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game as the AMCATs played to a 1-2 record.

Olivia Matela, Emmanuel - Posted a pair of 23-point outings in two games this past week for Emmanuel. Averaged 23.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.5 steals per contest.

Sarah Wisniewski, Johnson & Wales - Averaged 28.5 points, 7.5 boards, and three steals for the Wildcats last week. Recorded a double-double at Lasell with 23 points and 10 boards before knocking down seven triples and finishing with a career-high 34 points in a win over Norwich.

Haley Brewster, Norwich - Averaged 24.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. Scored 21 points in a win over Elms while also grabbing six boards. Followed that up with 28 points and five rebounds against Johnson & Wales.

Madi Zancan, Regis - Averaged 23.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game as Regis went 1-1. Shot 8-for-11 (72.7 percent) from the field as she finished with 20 points and nine rebounds against New England College. Earned her 10th double-double of the season with 26 points and 13 rebounds against Rivier.

Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier - Averaged 32.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists across two games for Rivier. Scored 39 points in a loss to Regis on Saturday.
