GNAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #6

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Caitlyn Scott, Albertus Magnus (Sr., G)

Senior guard Caitlyn Scott put together a strong performance for Albertus Magnus as the Falcons took down Farmingdale State, 80-71, on Thursday (Dec. 14). She scored 28 points on 9-for-16 (56.3 percent) shooting, narrowly missing a double-double with nine assists. Scott also took a step up on the Albertus leaderboard, moving into 11th on the school's all-time scoring list. Scott also had five rebounds, five steals, and a block in the win.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Alexa Lora, Johnson & Wales (Fr., G)

Freshman guard Alexa Lora played a major role in Johnson & Wales' 70-69 win over Fitchburg State on Tuesday (Dec. 12). She contributed 18 points on 7-for-16 (43.8 percent) shooting from the floor. She also grabbed two boards and dished out two assists, while coming away with one steal in the victory.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Sarah Wisniewski, Johnson & Wales - Had 24 points, five rebounds, five assists, and four steals in a 70-69 Johnson & Wales victory over Fitchburg State. Scored 18 of her game-high 24 points in the second half.

Yasmine Santos, Mitchell - Recorded a double-double, finishing with 15 points and 13 rebounds in Mitchell's non-conference loss at St. Joseph's (L.I.). Added two assists and two steals in the contest.

Elisabeth Stapelfeld, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Shot 70.0 percent (7-for-10) from the floor with 20 points and six rebounds while playing just 24 minutes in a hard-fought loss to Maine Maritime Academy.

Jordan Ouellette, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Recorded a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in a road victory over MCLA. Also tallied three assists, a steal and three blocks.
