GNAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #4

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus (Jr., G/F)

Albertus Magnus Jakara Murray-Leach helped the Falcons pick up two victories this week, averaging 25.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game. Scoring-wise, she eclipsed the 20-point mark in both contests, first scoring 26 in a victory over Coast Guard. She followed that up with 24 points in the Falcons’ GNAC opener against Colby-Sawyer. She also collected 10 rebounds in that game to complete the double-double.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Grace Ramsdell, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So., G)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) guard Grace Ramsdell had back-to-back double-digit scoring games for the Monks as her team played to a 1-1 record. She averaged 12.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Ramsdell opened the week scoring 10 point and grabbing five rebounds in a loss to Bowdoin before bouncing back with a double-double against the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.). She scored 14 points and grabbed 11 rebounds against the Blue Jays in the conference opener, while also adding two assists, two steals, and two blocks.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria - Averaged 19.3 points and 7.0 rebounds per game this week as Anna Maria went 2-1. Also averaged 2.0 assists per game.

Mikayla Caruso, Johnson & Wales - Set a career-high in points (26) and rebounds (19) to go with five assists and a pair of steals in a win over Elms.

Kiara Cerruti, Lasell - Averaged 19.5 points and 6.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for Lasell. Recorede a double-double with 21 points and 11 rebounds in a victory over Thomas. Also had four blocks in the game.

Yasmine Santos, Mitchell - Averaged 30.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game on the week. Added 3.5 steals and 2.0 assists per contest, while shooting 55.8 percent from the floor. Scored 37 points against Lasell and grabbed 10 rebounds to complete the double-double.

Haley Brewster, Norwich - Averaged 21.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in a 2-1 week for Norwich. Also scored her 1000th career point in a win ove SUNY Delhi on Tuesday (Nov. 28).

Madi Zancan, Regis - Scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season against Wheaton. Collected eight points, five rebounds, and two steals as the Pride cruised past Dean. Averaged a double-double with 18.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game.

Taylor Verboven, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Averaged a double-double in a 1-1 week for USJ, dropping 17.0 points per game and hauling in 12.5 rebounds. Scored 22 points and grabbed 18 rebounds against Western Connecticut. Rounded out her week with 12 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks on the road at Saint Joseph's (Maine).
