GNAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #10

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Caitlyn Scott, Albertus Magnus (Sr., G)

Senior guard Caitlyn Scott led Albertus Magnus to a pair of conference victories this week, averaging 28.0 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, while shooting 51.4 percent (18-for-35) from the floor. She opened the week, contributing 20 points, six assists and five boards to a slim 67-65 victory over Johnson & Wales on Tuesday (Jan. 16). She followed that up with a 36-point game against Rivier on Saturday (Jan. 20). Against the Raiders, Scott also pitched in seven rebounds and two more assists. Scott also had a steal in each contest.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jade Lewis, Elms (Fy., G)

First-year guard Jade Lewis was a key contributor to Elms’ 2-1 week. She averaged 10.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game across the Blazers’ three contests. She opened the week with seven points and two rebounds to go along with two helpers in a victory over Mitchell on Tuesday (Jan. 16). She followed the up with her top performance of the week with 15 points and seven rebounds in a win over MCLA. Lewis closed out the week with nine points, seven rebounds, and five assists in her teams lone setback of the week, dropping a decision to Saint Joseph’s (Maine).


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Marinique Reddin, Anna Maria - Had three straight double-double performances while also earning her 1000th career point against Maine-Presque Isle. Averaged 21.7 points, 14.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.7 steals per game.

Sarah Wisniewski, Johnson & Wales - Averaged a double-double with 16.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game as Johnson & Wales went 1-1. Was within two assists of a triple-double against Alberts Magnus with 13 points, 11 boards, and eight helper. Scored 20 points to go with nine boards and four steals in a home win over Colby-Sawyer.

Yasmine Santos, Mitchell - Averaged 23.5 points and 9.5 rebounds in two conference games. Posted a double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds against Elms, while adding three assists, one block, and one steal. Finished with 23 points and seven rebounds at Emmanuel.

Haley Brewster, Norwich - Helped Norwich to a 1-1 showing this week. Started with 13 points in a narrow loss at Regis, while hauling down seven caroms and dishing out four helpers. Followed that up by pouring in a season-high 35 points in Norwich's decisive win over Dean. Scored seven three-pointers and seven boards, five assists, and two steals. Averaged 24.0 points on the week.

Angelica Hurley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Averaged 20.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in a 1-1 week. Scored 22 points with 12 rebounds and three assists at Elms and netted 18 with four boards in a loss to Bates.

Maya Slisz, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Averaged 20.5 points, 4.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game. Dropped 27 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in a home win over Emmanuel. Rounded out the week with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and two steals against Regis.
