GNAC Women's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #2

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Haley Brewster, Norwich (Jr., G)

Junior guard Haley Brewster averaged 26.3 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 3.0 steals per game as she helped Norwich to a 2-1 record against some intrastate competition. She scored more that 20 points in each contest, starting with 25 points in a loss to Vermont State Castleton. She also collected six boards, four steals, and three assists in that game. She followed that up with a 24-point, nine rebound game in a win over Vermont State Johnson. She also had four assists and four more takeaways in that matchup. She closed out the week with 30 points , eight rebounds, and three assists in a victory over Vermont State Lyndon. She made at least three three-pointers in each contest.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jade Lewis, Elms (Fy., G)

First-year guard Jade Lewis had an impressive week for Elms as the Blazers played to a 2-1 record. She averaged 20.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.3 steals, and 2.7 assists per game. She also shot 51.2 percent (21-for-41) from the floor. She opened the week strong with 23 points on 9-for-11 (81.8 percent) shooting against Lesley. Five of her makes in that game were from downtown. She followed that up with 19 points, five assists, four rebounds, and three steals in a win over Gordon. She closed out the week with 18 points, six rebounds, and four steals in a setback against Coast Guard.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Caitlyn Scott, Albertus Magnus - Averaged 24.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in Albertus Magnus' 2-1 week. Scored 36 points in a come-from-behind win over NJCU.

Marissa Holt, Colby-Sawyer - Averaged 17.5 points, 3.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 steals per game in a 1-1 week for Colby-Sawyer. Had a 22-point game against Curry, including five three-pointers.

Kiara Cerruti, Lasell - Averaged 17.5 points and 9.0 rebounds per game for Lasell as the Lasers played to a 1-1 record this week.

Yasmine Santos, Mitchell - Averaged 20.0 points and 13.0 rebounds per game for Mitchell in the Lafrance Hospitality Tournament hosted by UMass Dartmouth as Mtichell dropped both contests. Recorded back-to-back double-doubles in the tournament.

Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier - Averaged a double-double with 22.5 point and 11.5 rebounds per game as Rivier dropped a pair of non-conference contests. Recorded a season-high 31 points against WPI on Saturday (Nov. 18).
