PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Angelica Hurley, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr., G/F)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) senior Angelica Hurley earned MVP honors at the Castleton Classic Championship this weekend. She averaged 27.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 steals per game and shot 52.6 percent (20-for-38) from the field. Her week started with a 25-point, seven-rebound showing in a victory over New England College. She also had four steals, two assists, and a block against the Pilgrims. She followed that up with a career-high 30 points in the championship game against Vermont State Castleton. She added eight boards and four assists in that game.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jade Lewis, Elms (Fy., G)

First-year guard Jade Lewis helped Elms start its season off with a 1-1 record, averaging 17.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Her biggest game came in her collegiate debut against Salem State. Lewis dropped 26 points against the Vikings, shooting 9-for-14 from the floor, including five three-pointers. She then had eight points and seven rebounds in a victory over Wentworth on Saturday (Nov. 11). Lewis also contributed defensively with two steals in each contest.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Jakara Murray-Leach, Albertus Magnus - Had two double-doubles on the week, averaging 21.3 points and 10.0 rebounds per game as the Falcons went 2-1. Recorded 25-point games against the University of New England and Rosemont with Albertus emerging victorious in both. Also scored her 1000th career point.

Caitlyn Scott, Albertus Magnus - Averaged 23.7 points per game in Albertus Magnus' 2-1 week. Had two 20-plus point games including a 28-point performance against Framingham State. Also scored her 1000th career point. In addition to her scoring numbers, averaged 3.7 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 3.7 steals per game.

Rahmia Johnston, Elms - Averaged 18.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game as Elms played to a 1-1 record. Recorded a double-double in a loss to Salem State with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Yasmine Santos, Mitchell - Recorded 20 points, 14 rebounds, six steals, four assists, and one block in Mitchell's decisive victory over Mount Holyoke.

Madi Zancan, Regis - Averaged a double-double with a 20.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. Tied her career highs with 27 points and 12 rebounds against Wellesley, while also coming away with a career-high six steals. Notched her fourth career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds against UMass Dartmouth, plus she tied her career high with four blocked shots.

Lyric Grumblatt, Rivier - Averaged 19.7 points per game, shooting 50.0 percent from the floor and 40.9 percent from three-point range. In a 1-1 weekend at the Wheaton Tip-Off Tournament, Grumblatt was named to the All-Tournament team after leading her squad to a 68-50 win over the hosts in which she scored 19 points.

Maya Slisz, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Paced the Blue Jays during a perfect 2-0 opening weekend, as the team won the Jamie L. Roberts Memorial Tournament. Named the Tournament MVP after averaging 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.0 steals per game. Dropped 19 points, while tallying four rebounds, three assists and three steals in a 82-55 win over Trinity (D.C.). Finished off the weekend by playing all 40 minutes in the 63-50 win over hosts St. Mary's (Md.) in the championship game, posting 18 points, nine rebounds, four assists and three steals.
