GNAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 13

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, G - Cambridge, Mass.)

Ramirez-Tejeda lifted the Saints to a crucial 2-0 week in GNAC play with key victories over Albertus Magnus and Saint Joseph's (Maine) by averaging 21.5 points and 10.5 rebounds for Emmanuel. The senior dropped 25 points to go along with 11 rebounds, three assists and two steals in a road victory over the Falcons before scoring 18 points to go with 10 rebounds in a senior day victory over the Monks. The Cambridge native shot 58.8% (20-34) from the field on the week and finished with five steals and five assists in 30.0 minutes per game.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Pam Gonzalez, Regis (Mass.) (Fr., G - Revere, Mass.)

Gonzalez notched two more double-doubles as she led the Pride to the top of the GNAC standings with two victories, averaging 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds. Wednesday against Suffolk, she hit 6-of-10 field goal attempts, including 4-of-6 from behind the three-point line, as she finished with 17 points and 12 rebounds along with two assists and two steals. She followed that up with a 15-point, 10-rebound performance Saturday as the Pride pulled out a victory over Anna Maria. Gonzalez now has six double-doubles this season as she continues to lead the team with 13.0 points and 8.9 rebounds per game. 


WEEK 13 HONOR ROLL

Shyla Osmond, Albertus Magnus (Sr., G - New Haven, Conn.) - In a 1-1 week, Osmond recorded another solid week of play for the Falcons as the senior guard averaged 30.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 8.5 assists and 5.5 steals per game. She shot an impressive 51.1% (24-47) from the field, 60% (3-5) from behind the arc and 90% (9-10) from the charity stripe. Osmond kicked off the week scoring a season-best 38 points, six rebounds, seven assists an five steals in the 73-71 setback against Emmanuel (Mass.). She then followed up with her 10th double-double of the year behind 22 points and 10 assists to go with four rebounds and six steals. 

Lexie Hamilton, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, g - Sunapee, N.H.) - Hamilton averaged 13 points, 9.5 assists and 7.5 rebounds in a 2-0 week for the Chargers. She shot 45.5% from the floor and 31.3% from beyond the arc. The senior guard began the week with nine points, 10 assists and five rebounds in a gritty 52-37 win over Norwich. Hamilton finished the week by flirting with another triple-double. She finished with game-highs of 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists in a 64-46 triumph over Fisher. 

Britney Gallagher, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Sr., G - New City, NY) - Averaged 19.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in a pair of wins .. Scored 25 points against Rivier after dropping 13 on Anna Maria ... Hit a three-pointer at the end of regular to force overtime against the AMCATS ... Shot 36.4 percent from three-point range a... averaged 2.5 assists.

Alexis Hackett, Suffolk (Sr., G - Charlton, Mass.) - Hackett averaged 13.5 points and 8.0 rebounds in a 1-1 week, including a career outing against Norwich on Saturday. On her senior day she not only sealed her spot in Suffolk's 1,000-point club, but supplied a career-high 27 points shooting 68.8% (11-16) from the field and 66.7% (4-6) from three-point land. She grabbed 11 boards to produce her 32nd career double-double.
