GNAC Women's Volleyball Report: Week 6

(FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 1-7)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Brylee Frank, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Jr, S - Palm City, Fla.)

Averaged 12.33 assists per set and ran a JWU offense that hit .360 including two wins against teams getting votes nationally ... Had 40 assists in the win versus Emmanuel, added 38 at Stevens ... Notched 33 assists in the 3-0 win against Wellesley ... Averaged 2.67 digs per set with eight digs against Emmanuel and Stevens

LIBERO OF THE WEEK

Allie Jo Amos, Lasell (So., L/DS - Prescott, Ariz.)

Recorded 4.78 digs per set in a 3-0 week for Lasell, including 5.17 digs per set in a pair of GNAC wins. She posted 16 digs in a 3-0 GNAC win over Anna Maria, and 15 digs in a 3-0 conference win over Saint Joseph's (Maine). She also made 12 digs in a non-conference win over Massachusetts Maritime.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Maddie Bromley, Colby-Sawyer (Fr, OH - Truckee, Calif.)

Bromley led the Chargers with 3.29 kills per set (46 total) in a 3-1 week. The first-year player added a team best 3.71 digs per set. She reached a double-double in three of the four matches, highlighted by a 20-kill, 16 dig performance in a gritty 3-2 GNAC road win at Regis. She added 10 kills and 19 digs in a 3-1 GNAC road win at Simmons and ended the week with 11 kills and 13 digs in a 3-0 victory over Albertus Magnus. Bromley also had 0.43 blocks per set and 0.57 aces per set.


WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL
Mary Shelow, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Sr, OH - Miami, Fla.) - Shelow averaged 3.00 kills and 1.79 digs per set over four matches for the Saints. The senior slammed home a season-high 21 kills against Suffolk before rounding out the week with a 14-kill outing vs. UNE. Shelow added seven total blocks, two aces and one assist on the week.

Elyssa Nicolas, Johnson & Wales (RI) (So, DS - San Francisco, Calif.) - Notched 3.63 digs per set in a 3-0 week with two wins versus teams getting votes nationally ... Had 14 digs in the win at Stevens and produced 12 digs in the win over Wellesley.

Olivia Addington, Lasell (Sr., OH/RS - Orange, Calif.) - Recorded 3.63 kills, 3.20 digs, and 0.80 blocks per set with a .243 attack percentage in a 3-0 week for Lasell, including a pair of GNAC wins. She posted nine kills and six digs in just two sets in a GNAC 3-0 win over Anna Maria, and made 10 kills, 10 digs and three blocks in a 3-0 conference win over Saint Joseph's (Maine). 

Taylor Dunster, Rivier (Jr, OH - Sutton, Mass.) - In a 4-0 week, Dunster dropped 3.40 kills/set with a .362 hitting percentage on offense while scooping up an impressive 3.10 digs/set on defense and she also chipped in on the service line with .70 aces/set. The junior outside hitter highlighted her week with 18 kills and a .412 hitting percentage with 13 digs in a 3-0 road sweep of Eastern Nazarene. 

Sydney Racevicius, Rivier (Fr, OH - Woodbury, Conn.) - The first year outside hitter registered 3.20 kills/set on offense and 2.80 digs/set on defense to help lead the Raiders to a 4-0 week including 2 GNAC wins. Racevicius highlighted her week scoring a double double with 12 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 sweep of University of St Joseph. 

Julia Fusco, Simmons (Sophomore, L - Beverly, Mass.) - In seven sets over two matches, the sophomore averaged 5.29 digs per set to go with 0.57 aces per set and a .884 serve reception percentage. The libero picked up 22 digs and fired a pair of aces in four sets vs. Colby-Sawyer on October 6 and followed that match with 15 digs in three sets and added two aces vs. Albertus Magnus College.

Faith Gray-Williams, Simmons (Sophomore, S/OH - Las Vegas, Nev.) - The sophomore averaged 2.43 kills, 4.43 assists, 0.57 aces and 0.29 blocks per set to go with a .289 hitting percentage in seven sets over two matches. The setter finished a kill short of a triple-double with nine kills, 15 assists and 18 digs in addition to three aces vs. Colby-Sawyer College on October 6. Gray-Williams followed with eight kills on a .429 hitting percentage to go with eight digs, 16 assists and an ace in three sets vs. Albertus Magnus College.
