PLAYER OF THE WEEK Matt Constant, Rivier (Jr., G) Junior guard Matt Constant led Rivier on both sides of the ball this past week, giving the Raiders two conference victories. The Laconia, N.H. native put up 22 points on 6-for-14 (42.9%) from the floor, including 7-of-8 from the line, eight boards, four assists, and three blocks in a home win over Elms and followed up with 25 points on 9-for-17 shooting, including seven threes, with five assists, three steals, and a block in a home victory over New England College (NEC). On the week, Constant averaged 23.5 points a game, five rebounds, 4.5 assists, 1.5 steals, and two blocks a game. The junior leads the GNAC currently in made threes (53) and free throw percentage (95.3), both of which currently place him third nationally in DIII. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Esmer Madesko, Lasell (Fr., G) First-Year guard Esmer Madesko played an instrumental role in the Lasers' 2-0 week in GNAC play as the Atlanta, Georgia native averaged 17 points on 75% from the floor (12-for-16) and 50% from three (3-for-6), collected three rebounds, seven assists, and 2.5 steals. Madesko opened the week with 18 points on 70% from the floor, snagged three boards, and dropped six dimes in the Lasers' road win over Colby-Sawyer and followed up with 16 points, three rebounds, eight assists, and four steals in a win over Albertus Magnus at home. Madesko leads the conference in field goal percentage (57.5%) and is third in both steals (32) and assists (62). |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ray Carter, Anna Maria - Averaged 25.5 points a game on 48.6% from the floor (54.5% from three), with 3.5 rebounds, five assists, and 1.5 steals a game in a 1-1 week. Scored 24 points and collected three boards/assists in a setback to Norwich and followed up with 27 points, four rebounds, seven assists, and three steals in a win over Regis.
Marcus Lewis, Lasell - Put up averages of 17 points (48.4% from the floor) and nine rebounds with 1.5 blocks in 2-0 week. Had 11 points, eight boards, two steals, and a block over Colby-Sawyer and collected a double-double with 23 points, 10 rebounds and collected two blocks over Albertus Magnus.
Eddie Volkerts, Mitchell - Posted a 22 point, 13 rebound double-double with a pair of steals in GNAC victory over Johnson & Wales.
Owen Liss, Norwich - Averaged 22.5 points a game on 53.1% from the field and 76.9% from the charity stripe with 8.5 boards, and two steals/blocks apiece in a 1-1 week. Collected a double-double (26 points, 13 rebounds) with two blocks and three steals in win over Anna Maria and collected 19 points and two blocks in setback to USJ.
Russell Rau, Regis - Collected 25.5 points a game and 11 rebounds with 1.5 steals a game across two contests. Had 21 points, nine boards, and three steals against Saint Joseph's (Maine) and followed with a 30 point, 13 rebound double-double with four assists against Anna Maria. Rau also became the all-time leading scorer in Regis' men's basketball program history on Saturday, passing the 10 year record of Ryan Chambers '14 with 1311 points.
Matt Youngquist, Rivier - Had 23 points and eight rebounds in 27 minutes for the Raiders in blowout victory over NEC.
Silvano Ismail, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Had 18.5 points a game on 73.7/66.7/100 shooting splits, 5.5 rebounds, three assists, and 1.5 steals a game in 24.5 minutes of action in two GNAC blowout victories. Had 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals over Regis and followed with 17 points and three assists on the road at Colby-Sawyer.
Friedrich Feldrappe, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Averaged a double-double with 14.5 points and 11.0 rebounds in two GNAC wins this week. The junior shot 61.1% from the floor and 60% from three on the week as well. Started the week with 14 points, seven rebounds, and three assists in a road win over NEC and finished the week with a 15 point, 15 rebound (career-high) double-double in a home win against Norwich.
