PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Billy Ray Barnes III, Dean (Jr., W)

Junior Wing Billy Ray Barnes III takes home his first GNAC Player of the Week honor after delivering a stellar all-around performance right before the Thanksgiving break in the Bulldogs’ 101-84 victory over the University of New England on Nov. 26, keeping Dean undefeated at 7-0 overall. He posted a triple-double for Dean in 35 minutes of action, scoring 27 points on 56.3% from the floor and 81.8% from the charity stripe, as well as collecting a game-high 18 rebounds and 11 assists. Barnes III is currently second in the conference in both rebounds per game (10.0) and tied for second in total assists with 30.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Silvano Ismail, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Fr., G)

First-Year Guard Silvano Ismail collects his second GNAC rookie of the week honors of the season after playing a critical role in the Monks’ 2-0 week. Ismail started the week at UMaine Farmington with 13 points, five boards, four assists, and two steals. He followed up with a double-double (17 points, 15 boards) and added seven assists and two blocks over Southern Maine. Ismail averaged 15 points (50% FG), 10 boards, 5.5 assists, and 1 stock. The first-year is tied for third in assists per game (4.3) and second in total assists (30) in the GNAC.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Jaylyn Clardy, Mitchell - Scored 31 points on 61% from the field and grabbed 11 rebounds for a double-double in a loss to Coast Guard.

Alex Williams, New England College - Collected a 24 point, 16 rebound double-double in a setback against Lesley.

Kyler Bosse, Rivier - Led the Raiders to victory over Plymouth State with 28 points on 60% from the floor, including three-for-four from three, and five boards.

John Paul Frazier, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Scored a career-high 30 points in 24 minutes in a win over UMaine Farmington, going 11-for-15 from the floor and 8-for-11 from downtown. Collected six boards in the game as well. Averaged 20.5 points per game on 52/54/100 shooting splits with five boards in a 2-0 week.

Kevin Cummings, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Scored game-high 22 points in win over Nichols. Was named to the 2024 CNU Holiday INNvitational All-Tournament Team after delivering a career-high and game-high 27 points in win over Transylvania.
