GNAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Friedrich Feldrappe, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Jr., F)

Junior Forward Friedrich Feldrappe lifted the Blue Jays to a close-victory in their lone game of the week over receiving votes (RV) and reigning two-time NEWMAC Champion Babson College on Wednesday night (Nov. 20). Feldrappe scored a career-high and game-high 29 points in 36 minutes of action on 9-for-13 shooting (69.2%), including 3-for-6 from downtown and going a perfect 8-for-8 at the free-throw mark. The junior also collected six rebounds and four assists to lift the Blue Jays over the Beavers, 79-76, at home. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Esmer Madesko, Lasell (Fr., G)

First-Year Guard Esmer Madesko played a huge role for Lasell as he averaged 21.3 points a game on 64/50/80 shooting splits, collecting five boards/assists apiece and three steals. He started the week with 20 points, seven assists, and three steals in 24 minutes of action in a win over Wentworth, following up with 22 points, six boards, five assists, and three steals in a loss to Plymouth State, and finalized the week with 22 points, seven boards, and three steals in a win over Fitchburg State.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus - Put up 18 points a game with six assists with two steals a game in a 2-1 week for the Falcons. Had game-winning shot over Emerson. Put up a double-double in a win over SUNY Delhi with six boards and four steals as well. Scored a career-high 28 points against Wesleyan (Conn.) and dished five assists. 

Billy Ray Barnes, Dean - Scored 22.7 points a game on 77.1% from the floor and 93.3% from the free-throw line in an undefeated 3-0 week. Was shy of a double-double (19 points, nine rebounds) with two steals in a win over Lesley. Collected a double-double of 33 points (11-for-12 from the floor and the charity stripe) and 11 boards in a win over UMaine-Farmington. Followed up with 16 points and six assists in a win over Carlow.

Jaylyn Clardy, Mitchell - Averaged 18.7 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.7 steals per game. Collected 15 points and eight boards with two steals in a win over Anna Maria. Went off for 28 points, six boards, and five steals in loss to Eastern Connecticut State. Finished the week with 13 points and six boards in 15 minutes of action in a win over MCLA.

Eddie Volkerts, Mitchell - Averaged 16 points, 7.3 boards, 1.7 steals, and 2.3 blocks per game in a 2-1 week. Was shy of a double-double (19 points, nine boards) and added three stocks in win over Anna Maria. Collected seven boards and four blocks in loss to Eastern Connecticut State. Finalized the week with 20 points and six boards in 21 minutes in win over MCLA. 

Owen Liss, Norwich – Averaged 24.5 points a game on 55/60/90 shooting splits with 7.5 boards and two steals and 1.5 blocks in a 2-0 week. Collected 27 points, eight boards, four steals, and three blocks in a nail-biter over MCLA. Followed up with 22 points and seven boards over Vermont State Johnson.

Jalen Olivero, Norwich Scored 20.5 points a game and collected three steals a game on the week. Put up 20 points with four steals in a win over MCLA. Proceeded with 21 points, including five threes, and two steals in a win over Vermont State Johnson.

Kyler Bosse, Rivier - Averaged 23 points a game on 59.4% from the floor and snagged six rebounds a game in a 2-0 week. Collected 33 points and eight rebounds over Lesley. Followed with 14 points and five assists over Brooklyn.
