GNAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #6

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Owen Liss, Norwich (Sr., F)

Owen Liss repeats this week as Player of the Week after putting up 28 points per game (58.8/75.0/92.9 shooting splits) to go with 5.5 rebounds per game, 2.5 steals per game, and 3.0 blocks per game. The Senior Forward started the week on Monday (Dec. 9) earning a spot on the Ed Hockenbury All-Classic team after putting up 27 points to go with seven boards, one steal, and three blocks against Bryant & Stratton College (Albany). He followed that on Wednesday (Dec. 11) up with 29 points in Norwich's rout of VTSU Lyndon, going 9-16 from the floor and 11-12 from the foul line while also racking up four boards, four steals, and three blocks. The Suffield, Conn. native is currently fourth in the NCAA in points per game (25.6), seventh in total field goals made (72), and 11th in blocks per game (2.75).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Silvano Ismail, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr., G)

First-Year Guard Silvano Ismail was a key contributor for the Monks in their non-conference victory over Endicott on Saturday (Dec. 14). The Portland, Maine product put up 16 points on 57.1% (4-7) from the floor, including 2-3 from three and connecting on six of seven from the charity stripe, while grabbing eight rebounds in 20 minutes of action.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus - Averaged 21.5 points per game and 5.5 assists per game in a 2-0 week. Scored 24 points over Amherst and followed up with 19 points and eight assists over Lehman.

Jayden Dickerson, Anna Maria - Scored 19 points on 6-11 from the floor, including 4-7 from three, and six rebounds in 16 minutes in a victory over Castleton.

Jaylyn Clardy, Mitchell - Averaged 19.5 points and five rebounds per contest in a 1-1 week with two steals and 1.5 blocks per game. Collected 17 points and six rebounds vs. Connecticut College and followed up with 22 points, four rebounds, and three stocks in win vs Johnson & Wales.

Brandon Lee, Mitchell - Averaged a double-double with 12.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest. Began the week with 13 points, nine rebounds, and two steals against Connecticut College. Notched his first double-double of the season by scoring 12 points and pulling down 14 boards in a win over JWU, adding two steals as well.

Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Put up 18 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals in 22 minutes in win over Endicott.
