PLAYER OF THE WEEK Remijo Wani, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So., F) Sophomore Forward Remijo Wani led the Monks to a 2-1 record this past week, producing on both ends of the floor. The Portland, Maine native ended 2024 with a 16 point and three steal performance in a setback to Bates on Dec. 30. Wani started 2025 at the Middlebury Invitational with 22 points on 77.8% shooting (7-for-9), including three three-pointers, with five boards, two steals and a block in a win over Cortland on Jan. 3. He led SJC once again the following day as the sophomore put up 26 points, eight boards, and four steals in a huge victory over receiving Votes (RV) and NESCAC opponent Middlebury. Wani earned Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors at the 2025 Middlebury Invitational Tournament for his efforts. Wani averaged 21.3 points a game on 52.5% from the floor, 37.5% from three, and 84.2% from the charity stripe along with 5.3 boards and three steals on the week. |

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK Adelphe Cisse, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., F) First-Year Forward Adelphe Cisse averaged nearly a double-double in a 2-2 record (since Dec. 18) for the Blue Jays, putting up 12.5 points a game and 9.5 rebounds a game and collecting 3.8 assists and 1.5 blocks. The first-year forward collected three double-doubles in those four games for USJ as he put up duplicate double-double performances in a win against Yeshiva (Dec. 18) and a setback against Farmingdale State (Dec. 29) in which he produced 12 points and 11 rebounds. He collected a block against Yeshiva and added four more against Farmingdale St. Cisse put up seven points, six boards, and three assists in 22 minutes in a win over West Conn. (Dec. 30) to end 2024 and followed up with his best performance in the New Year against Nazareth (Jan. 4), scoring a career high 19 points and grabbing 10 rebounds with five assists. |
WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Ta'zhon Daniels, Albertus Magnus - Scored career-high 32 points on 61/57/100 shooting splits in a conference-opening 116-56 victory over Colby-Sawyer. Added six boards, three assists, and two stocks.
Ray Ford Jr., Albertus Magnus - Scored career-high 27 points on 57.9% and 50% from three. Collected seven rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Ray Carter, Anna Maria - Averaged 20.7 points a game on 52% from the floor and 53.3% from three with 4.7 rebounds a game and 4.3 assists a game in a 2-1 week for the Amcats. His best performance came in a win over Hunter at the East Conn. Tournament as he put up 26 points, six boards, and seven assists.
Andrew Ciaglo, Elms - Scored 23 points, including six threes, for the Blazers in a GNAC opening victory over JWU.
Lence Altenor, University of Saint Joseph (Conn.) - Averaged 20.5 ppg with a 56.4 FG% and 47.1 3PT% along with 4.5 RPG and 2.7 APG in a 2-2 week for the Blue Jays. Scored 22 points twice against Yeshiva and Nazareth. Flirted with a double-double in win over West Conn with 20 points and nine boards.
