GNAC Women's Basketball Report: Week 7

– FOR THE WEEK(S) OF DEC. 17 thru DEC. 31 –

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kelsi McNamara, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr, G - West Newbury, Mass.)

McNamara carried the No. 13/14 Monks to a pair of victories by averaging 33.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists during the team's California trip last week, while shooting 65.6% (21-32 FG) overall from the floor. She was also a stellar 10-of-15 (66.7%) from beyond the arc and 14-of-14 from the FT line. In a 74-70 victory over Pomona-Pitzer on Saturday, McNamara netted a career-high 40 points (12-18 FG, 4-8 3PT, 12-12 FT) with nine boards and three assists. On Sunday in a 69-50 win over Occidental, she was 9-of-14 overall, including an incredible 6-of-7 from three. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Natalie Fraioli, Suffolk (Fr., G - Sutton, Mass.)

After logging just eight minutes against No. 4/6 nationally-ranked Tufts, Fraioli had a career game in a 66-47 win over St. Mary's (Md.), registering 21 points (8-17 FG, 4-5 FT), five rebounds, two assists and two steals for the Rams. 


WEEK 7 HONOR ROLL
Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr, G - Cambridge, Mass.) - Ramirez-Tejeda averaged 21.5 points and 11.5 rebounds while shoooting 57.6% (19-33 FG) from the floor as head coach Andy Yosinoff set the new NCAA Division III Women's Basketball record for all-time wins (816) with the Saints' 68-58 victory over Ramapo this past Sunday. She had 19 points and 12 boards in the aforementioned victory before totaling 24 points (11-17 FG) to go with 11 boards and four assists in a narrow 71-66 loss to No. 9 Messiah down in Ft. Lauderdale Fla. 

Sam D'Angelo, Regis (Mass.) (Sr., F - Woburn, Mass.) - In just 21.5 minutes per game, D'Angelo averaged 16.0 points and 5.0 rebounds in a 1-1 stretch, highlighted by a 23-point, six-rebound, four-assist effort in a road setback against Clark.
