GNAC Field Hockey Report: Week 6

(FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 1-7)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Cailin Flannery, Lasell (Sr., F - Medford, N.J)

Recorded a pair of two-goal games for four goals and eight points, including both game-winners, in a 2-0 week for Lasell. She scored twice in a 4-3 non-conference road win at Roger Williams on Thursday, including a second-half goal that tied the game at 2-2 and the overtime game-winner, and she scored the second and fourth goals in Saturday's 4-1 GNAC road victory at Anna Maria.

 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Lucy McNamara, Simmons (Sophomore, GK - Brewster, Mass.)

In a 1-1 week, the sophomore posted a 1.40 goals against average and a .833 save percentage with 15 saves in 150 minutes of action. The keeper stopped 10 of 11 shots in 80 minutes of a 1-0 overtime loss to Smith College on Tuesday and capped the week with five saves in a 4-2 win at Johnson & Wales on Saturday.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Sofia Rodriguez, Lasell (Fr., GK - Peabody, Mass.)

Posted a 2-0 record, a 1.95 goals against average and a .765 save percentage in a 2-0 week for Lasell. She made 12 saves on 15 shots in a 4-3 non-conference overtime road victory Thursday at Roger Williams, and she made one save on two shots in 57 minutes in Saturday's 4-1 GNAC road victory at Anna Maria. 


WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL
Jordan Teixeira, Colby-Sawyer (Sr, F - Exeter, N.H.) - Teixeira recorded nine points on four goals and an assist to help the Chargers to a 3-0 week. She scored twice, including an important insurance goal, and had an assist in Colby-Sawyer's 5-3 GNAC win over Regis on Saturday. Then on Sunday, Teixeira scored two of the team's three goals, including the overtime game-winner, in a 3-2 victory over UMaine-Farmington, giving the Chargers their first-ever win over the Beavers. 

Arianna Kahler, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Senior, D - Lisbon Falls, Maine) - Kahler scored both of the Monks' goals in a 2-0 win at Thomas College on Wednesday.

Emily Plummer, Simmons (First Year, M/B - San Diego, Calif.) - In two matches, the first year tallied two goals. The midfielder scored a pair of goals in the Sharks' 4-2 victory at Johnson & Wales University on October 6.
