GNAC Field Hockey Report: Week 4

(FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 17-23)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sam Taylor, Lasell (Jr., F - Hanover, Mass.)

Recorded four goals and five assists for 13 points in three games as Lasell went 2-1 for the week. She had three goals and one assist in a 6-2 win over New England College, one assist in a 5-3 loss to Salve Regina, and one goal and three assists in Lasell's only GNAC game, a 10-2 victory over Johnson & Wales.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Sofia Rodriguez, Lasell (Fr., GK - Peabody, Mass.)

Posted a 1-0 record in three games (one start) with a 2.50 goals against average, stopping 18 of 23 shots for a .783 save percentage in 140 minutes. She made four saves on five shots Tuesday in the second half of a 6-2 win over New England College. She made eight saves on 10 shots Thursday in the second half of a 5-3 loss to Salve Regina and made six saves on eight shots Saturday in a 10-2 GNAC victory over JWU.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Maegan Sheehy, Rivier (Fr, F - Sabattus, Maine) 

Sheehy tallied three goals for six points in a 1-1 week for the Raiders. She scored two goals against Elms in a 5-3 win and one more versus Colby Sawyer where the Raiders lost in double overtime, 3-2. 


WEEK 4 HONOR ROLL
Kayla Collins, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Windham, Maine) - The SJC field hockey program officially welcomed their latest teammate last Thursday when the Monks signed the 16-year-old through Team IMPACT in a signing ceremony held in the Hall of Fame Room of the Harold Alfond Center. Emily Foster, Rivier (Sr, GK - West Lebanon, N.H.) - Foster made 12 saves on the week for the 1-1 Raiders. Her loss came in the double-overtime thriller at GNAC foe Colby-Sawyer (L, 3-2). She made seven saves in that contest after making five saves in the team's 5-3 win over Elms.
