GNAC Women's Tennis Report: Week 3

Megan McKeever, Simmons (Sr. - Stamford, Conn.)

McKeever powered Simmons to a must-win, 5-4 road victory over Regis College to lead the Sharks to a 2-0 week. Early in Saturday's match against the Pride, McKeever partnered with Sarah Mariski to win first doubles, 8-6, and help the Sharks sweep doubles. In singles, McKeever came through clutch winning fifth singles in a three-set tie-breaker over the Pride's Kaitlyn Colby, 6-4, 0-6, 7-6. Midway through the week against Lesley, she won both her double and singles matches to help Simmons to the 8-1 win over the Lynx. 

Avery Halloran, Simmons (First-Year - Southington, Conn.)

First-year Avery Halloran guided the Sharks to a 2-0 week, which included helping Simmons earned a must-win 5-4 victory over Regis College on the road, Saturday afternoon. Against the Pride, Halloran paired with sophomore Olga Zhizhin for an 8-6 second doubles win and help the Sharks to a 3-0 sweep of the doubles. Earlier in the week against Lesley, Halloran earned a two-set victory in fifth singles as well as an 8-5 win in third doubles.

In the Falcons' lone game of the week against Eastern Nazaene. the junior owned a 1-0 mark in both singles and doubles play. Mandulak, along with teammate JuJu Oliver, opened the day with an 8-1 win at No. 1 doubles, earning their first dual victory of the season. Mandulak closed out the day collecting her second win of the season following a 6-0, 6-0 win over Eastern Nazarene's Jenna Schlosser at No. 2 singles.
 
Amira Eid, Colby-Sawyer (Sr. - Pelham, N.H.) - Eid went 6-0 this past week. 
 
Kari Bollinger, Eastern Nazarene (Jr. - Alton Bay, N.H.)

Bollinger posted a pair of victories in Eastern Nazarene's 6-3 win at Albertus Magnus. Bollinger partnered with Jenna Schlosser to earn an 8-3 victory at the No. 2 doubles position before collecting a 6-3, 7-5 win at the No. 3 singles spot.
 
Kaeleigh FitzPatrick, Regis  (Sr. - South Windsor, Conn.)

FitzPatrick has been a standout for the Pride, especially in conference play. FitzPatrick and Katelyn Mogelnicki moved up to number one doubles last week, defeated the USJ duo in a tiebreaker, and battled the Simmons number one doubles team. In singles, she won both matches in straight sets without losing a single game, a feat she has now accomplished in four straight GNAC contests.
