GNAC Women's Tennis Report: Week 2

Mogelnicki helped the Pride win both matches over the past week. Against Salem State, she rebounded from a doubles loss to win her singles contest in straight sets. She then battled through competitive matches in both doubles and singles Saturday against Albertus Magnus, pulling out her singles match in straight sets by breaking serve in the clinching game.

Gevry lost just one game in the entire week to help Regis pick up two victories. She did not drop a game in winning her singles match against Salem State Tuesday. Saturday against Albertus Magnus, she won her doubles contest, 8-0, and then lost just one game in the first set on her way to a straight set singles victory

Katie Cawthorne, Eastern Nazarene (Jr. - Norwell, Mass.)

Posted a 3-1 record in a 1-1 week for Eastern Nazarene. Playing at the No. 3 & 4 singles spots on the week, Cawthorne collected a pair of victories. She also recorded a 1-1 mark in doubles action at the No. 1 position. Cawthorne tallied a pair of wins to help the Lions earn their first GNAC win of the season, a 5-4 victory over Lesley.
 
 
Emily Kerr, Saint Joseph (CT) (Jr. - Portland, Conn.)

Kerr was instrumental in helping lead the Blue Jays to a 2-0 week and a 1-0 start to GNAC play. The junior was perfect on the week and didn't drop a single game in singles play, going a spotless 4-0 in all of her matches. Kerr powered the Blue Jays to their first victory of the season on Monday, a 7-2 victory at home over Western Connecticut at home, winning her No. 1 doubles match with teammate Kathleen Gilland, 8-3, before sweeping her No. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-0 over WestConn. She followed that up with a gritty 8-7 (7-2 tiebreaker) win with Gilland at No. 1 doubles on Saturday on the road at Lesley in USJ's GNAC opener before convincingly winning her No 2. singles match 6-0, 6-0 against the Lynx in another 7-2 victory for the Blue Jays.
