SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Carli Quinlan, Simmons (So.)

Sophomore Carli Quinlan touched the wall first four times for the Sharks in the Seven Sisters Invitational at Mount Holyoke. Beginning with the 50-yard butterfly, Quinlan touched the wall .29 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher to secure first-place with a time of 27.20. Four events later, in the 50-yard freestyle, Quinlan collected her second first-place finish, clocking with a time of 25.16 before earning her third in the 200-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 1:59.59. On the second day of the meet, Quinlan secured first place in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing with a season-best time of 54.32.

DIVER OF THE WEEK

Heather Ansley, Norwich (Sr.)

Senior Heather Ansley claimed victory in the one-meter diving six opt in Norwich's clean Senior Day sweep of Plymouth State on Saturday (Jan.20), tallying 189.15 points to beat her nearest competition by over 17 points. She followed that up later on by scoring 141.08 in the five-vol. diving competition.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Berkley Hutchins, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Fr.)

First-year Berkley Hutchins won two events for the Monks in their meet against Maine Maritime Academy on Saturday (Jan. 20). Hutchins won the 100-yard IM (1:08.02) and swam a leg (31.74) for the Monks' winning 200-Medley relay team, which posted a 2:03.89 effort.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Brandy Lewis, Norwich – Captured four event victories (three individual and one team) for the Cadets, first swimming the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay team that claimed victory. Then, finished first in the 1000-yard freestyle (11:19.83) and the 500-yard freestyle (5:35.68). Lewis closed the afternoon by swimming a 5:06.74 to win the 400-yard IM.

Olivia Luhnau, Regis – Collected two individual event victories for the Pride as she finished first in the 50-yard breaststroke (35.93) and the 100-yard breaststroke (1:20.01). Luhnau then anchored the 800-yard freestyle relay team to a Regis Pool record with a 200-yard free split of 2:06.47, helping the team to an overall time of 8:47.26 to break the record by over five seconds.

Kiley Matthews, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) – Captured three event victories (two individual and one team) for the Monks. Individually, she won the 50-yard free (27.25) and the 100-yard free (57.86) while also swimming a leg for the Monks’ winning 200-yard medley relay team, which posted a time of 2:03.89.
