SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Carli Quinlan, Simmons (So.)

Sophomore Carli Quinlan registered a pair of season-best times in the 100 free and 100 butterfly this week as Simmons swept its double-dual meet with the University of New England and Colby-Sawyer this weekend. She touched the wall in 55.63 in the freestyle event, while finishing at 1:02.70 in the butterfly. She also swam the anchor leg of the Sharks' 400-yard freestyle relay, helping them record a time of 3:54.56.

DIVER OF THE WEEK

Reilly Laitala, Norwich (So.)

Sophomore Reilly Laitala earned first-place in two 1-meter events this week for Norwich. She scored 183.50 in one event and 118.75 in the other to earn the top spot in both categories. Her 183.50 effort was more than 20 points better than the closest Saint Michael's diver.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Bee Eckels, Simmons (Fy.)

Simmons first-year Bee Eckels earned top times in three events to help the Sharks to the double-dual victory over the University of New England and Colby-Sawyer. She finished first in the 100 breaststroke with a season-best time of 1:17.96, while placing second in both the 100 IM and 200 free with respective times of 1:10.03 and 2:11.96.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Tess Kjoller - Had her best showcase of the year on Saturday with a 186.82 score to capture first place in a double-dual meet with Simmons and the University of New England. Her dives ranged from 1 - 2.5 in difficulty.

Brandy Lewis, Colby-Sawyer - Won all of her individual events 1000 free, 50 breast, and 500 free scoring 18 points for the Chargers. Swimming her season best in both distance events and she touched out her opponent in the breaststroke winning by just .3 seconds. Lewis won the 1000 free at a time of 11:38.22, the 50 breast at a 35.43 time and the 500 yard at a 5:40.75 time.

DeAngela Fobbs, Elms - Took first place in back-to-back events 50 butterfly and the 100 IM. Was a few tenths of a second short of breaking the fly record at Elms and now has the second fastest time in the event in Blazer history.

Jenna Tschida, Norwich - Finished as the top-overall Cadet in the 100 IM (1:10.80). Claimed her first individual victory of the day in the 100 freestyle, swimming a 58.67. Closed out the day by swimming the first leg of the 200 freestyle relay, helping Norwich to a second-place showing in the event.
