SWIMMER OF THE WEEK

Joni McGillis, Elms (So.)

Every time Joni McGillis swam, it resulted in first place for the sophomore. McGillis won three individual events as well as a relay event for the Blazers. She touched the wall first in the 100-yard freestyle, 100-yard butterfly, and the 50-yard butterfly with times of 57.52, 1:05.69, and 29.82. Then, she swam a time split of 26.40 in the 200-yard medley relay.

DIVER OF THE WEEK

Reilly Laitala, Norwich (So.)

Sophomore Reilly Laitala picked up an individual victory for the Cadets this past weekend. Laitala finished with a score of 203.25 in the one-meter Diving six option event which was 30 points higher than the runner-up.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Berkley Hutchins, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Fr.)

First-year Berkley Hutchins won two individual events and finished second in another individual event. Hutchins won the 50-yard freestyle (27:00) and 200-yard breaststroke (2:44.19) while finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke (1:07.72) at Husson on Friday (Jan. 12). The first-year also swam a leg for the Monks’ winning 200-medley relay quartet.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Megan Miller, Regis – Won three individual events to lead the Pride to a dual meet victory over Albertus Magnus. Miller touched the wall first in the 100-yard butterfly (1:11.00), the 200-yard backstroke (2:28.54), and the 100 individual medley (1:10.98).
