GNAC Women's Soccer Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Bridget O’Connell, Colby-Sawyer (Jr., F)

Junior forward Bridget O’Connell compiled seven points for Colby-Sawyer, leading the Chargers to a 2-0 week. On Wednesday (Sept. 13), O’Connell netted two goals and assisted once in a 4-1 victory over New England College. Then on Saturday (Sept. 16), she scored once to lift the Chargers over Albertus Magnus.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Lyndsey Valletta, Colby-Sawyer (Fr., GK)

First-year goalkeeper Lyndsey Valletta led Colby-Sawyer defensively to a 2-0 week. She converted 13 saves in 180 minutes of action at the net, while only giving up two goals. Seven of her stops came in a 4-1 win over New England College on Wednesday (Sept. 13). She then denied six Albertus Magnus opportunities on Saturday (Sept. 16). 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Lauren Miley, Emmanuel (Fr., M)

First-year Lauren Miley contributed on the offensive side of the pitch for Emmanuel this week. On Tuesday (Sept. 12), the rookie midfielder scored the lone goal against Albertus Magnus in a 1-0 victory. On Friday (Sept. 15), she set up her teammates twice in a 4-0 victory over Anna Maria, giving the Saints a 2-0 week.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Haley Gaunt, Dean - Piled up 21 saves and allowed just one goal in two games of action in net, while earning her second clean sheet of the season in a tie with Lasell.

Jamie McDonough, Elms - Scored two game-winning goals in a 2-0 week for the Blazers.

Sarah Dullaghan, Emmanuel - Recorded her first career hat trick in a 4-0 victory over Anna Maria.

Carly McCrumb, Johnson & Wales - Went 2-0-1 with a 0.45 goals-against average and a .875 save percetnage for the Wildcats. 

Rebecca Karis, Norwich - Converted 22 saves in two contests for the Cadets, while hoisting a .917 save percentage.

Daniela Mazo, Regis - Finished with a career-high ten saves against Johnson & Wales and recorded five more against Saint Joseph’s (Maine) for a total of 15 on the week. 

Jordan Butters, Rivier - Earned seven points from three goals and an assist in a 3-0 week for the Raiders.
