GNAC Women's Soccer Report: Week 2

(FOR THE WEEK OF SEPT. 3-9)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sydney Rocheville, Norwich (So., M - Salem, Mass.)

Rocheville had a historic week, tying for the second-most assists in a single game with three assists in a 4-1 win over NVU-Johnson on Wednesday. She scored twice in the second half, including the game-winning goal to break a 1-1 tie at halftime vs. Albertus Magnus. She helped the Cadets to their first win vs. Albertus Magnus since 2011 and they are also off to their best start in program history at 4-0-0. Rocheville had two goals and three assists for seven points on the week.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Katie Bishop-Manning, Norwich (So., GK - New York, N.Y.) 

Bishop-Manning made 19 saves on the week, backstopping the Cadets to two victories and helped them improve to 4-0-0 on the year, which is the best start in program history. Bishop-Manning made 11 saves to help Norwich to its first win over Albertus Magnus since 2011.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Jordan Restivo, Johnson & Wales (RI) (Fr., F - Utica, N.Y.) 

Had four goals in three games this week ... Recorded the first hat trick of her career with four goals against Anna Maria. Had two goals in the first half and two in the second half. 


WEEK 2 HONOR ROLL 

Hannah Fields, Colby-Sawyer (Sr., F - Shapleigh, Maine) - Fields led the Chargers in a 1-1 week with three goals. She scored both of the team's goals in a tough 3-2 loss on the road at Keene. She followed with an insurance goal in Colby-Sawyer's 3-0 victory over Simmons in the team's first GNAC contest. 

Natalie Dash, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr., F - East Hampton, Conn.) - Dash led Emmanuel to a perfect 3-0 week, scoring a goal in every game to accumulate six points on the frame. The junior buried the game-winner in a 5-0 win over Dean and added scores over Wentworth and Castleton State to help EC open the season with a 3-1 mark, the program's best start since 2011.

Lexi Gawron, Emmanuel (Mass.) (Jr., GK - South Hadley, Mass.) - Posted a 3-0 record on the week for the Saints making nine saves over 225 minutes of action. The junior split time in a 5-0 shutout win over Dean and ended the week with a .750 save percentage to help EC get off to its best start since 2011 at 3-1 on the year.

Karyssa Lachance, Norwich (Fr., M - Gorham, N.H.) - Lachance continued her remarkable start to her collegiate career, scoring in her third and fourth straight games. Lachance scored the opening goal in both wins to help jump start the NU offense in both games. She is the first Norwich rookie to score in each of her first four games in program history. She helped lead Norwich to its first win over Albertus Magnus since 2011 and the best start in program history at 4-0.  

Rachel Kelly, Regis (Mass.) (Jr., M - Whitman, Mass.) - Kelly was a key offensive player for the Pride over the past week. Tuesday, she led Regis with seven total shots, including six shots on goal, as the Pride continually pressured Eastern Nazarene in a 3-1 victory. Saturday, she scored the game-winning goal with four minutes remaining in the overtime period to give Regis a 2-1 GNAC victory at Suffolk. It was the fourth game-winning goal of her career, but her first since the 2016 season. Kelly is tied for third in the GNAC with 21 total shots so far this season. 

Adia Grogan, Saint Joseph's (Me.) (Fr., GK - Kennebunk, Maine) - Grogan notched her third shutout in as many games with four saves in a 2-0 win at University of Saint Joseph on Saturday.
