GNAC Softball Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Chantelle Bouchard, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (So., C)

Sophomore Chantelle Bouchard put together an incredible week for Saint Joseph’s (Maine) during the team’s spring trip. She batted .560/.593/1.120, scoring six runs and driving in 13. She had at least one hit in all eight contests and had multiple hits on four occasions. Her top performance of the week was a 3-for-4 showing in a victory over Mount Saint Mary. She had a double and two home runs in the game, adding two runs and six RBI. She became just the seventh Monk in team history to have a two-home-run game. She hit five doubles and three long balls in total.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

Eden Forget, Anna Maria (Sr., P)

Senior Eden Forget was impressive in the circle for Anna Maria against Vermont State Johnson, tossing a five-inning complete game shutout for the victory. She allowed just two hits and walked none. She nearly unhittable as 13 of her 15 outs recorded were strikeouts.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Madison DeCota, Norwich (Fr., P/SS)

Freshman Madison DeCota went 7-for-8 at the plate in Norwich’s non-conference doubleheader against Bridgewater State on Saturday (March 16). She started off the day hot, going 3-for-4 with a double and three runs scored in the opener as the Cadets took a 10-5 decision. She got even better as the day went on, hitting safely all four times she came to the plate in the late game, including two more doubles. She also drove in two runs and scored twice. In total she batted .875/.875/1.250 with five runs scored and two RBI.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Katie Hopkins, Lasell - Batted .519/.552/.667 in eight games for Lasell. Produced six multi-hit games with six RBI and four runs scored in the eight contests.

Kylee Caetano, Rivier - Went 3-for-7 at the plate in a doubleheader against Mass. Maritime. Hit a grand slam in the opener, contributing to her six RBI and three runs scored on the day.
