• 2011 Softball Team Named to NFCA All-Academic List

    The 2011 Suffolk University Softball team was named to National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top-10 All-Academic team list for the past academic year. During the 2010-11 academic calendar, Suffolk ranked fifth among all NCAA Division-III softball programs in the nation posting a 3.558 team grade-point average.

Freshman hurler Rae-Marie Copan (Newton, MA) allowed three runs off five hits in five innings to collect her eighth win of the season.

Nielsen was one of three Gators to hit a home run on the day, as the Gators powered their way past Suffolk 5-1 in game one and 7-3 in game two.

With the goal of saving lives of patients looking for a bone marrow or stem cell transplants, the Mount Ida girls came enforce to recruit parents and fans in attendance to join the bone marrow registry.

  • Emerson Tops Softball Pre-Season Poll

    Emerson College, the 2010 GNAC Championship runner-up, has been selected as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference Softball preseason favorite in a vote conducted by GNAC coaches. St. Joseph’s Maine came in second place, while Rivier, the 2010 GNAC Champions, just edged Simmons College for a third place finish. Lasell College earned a fifth place pick, followed by St. Joseph CT in sixth, and Mount Ida and Suffolk tied for the remaining two slots in the 2011 preseason poll.
  • Morissette Named Rivier Women's Softball Head Coach

    Nashua, NH – Rivier College has announced Men's Basketball Head Coach Dave Morissette will also assume the responsibilities of the Women's Softball program. Morissette, who had previously coached the softball team for three seasons (2000 – 2002) once again takes the reins after former coach Kelly O'Connell stepped down following a GNAC Championship and a NCAA appearance in the 2010 season.
