GNAC Men's Soccer Report: Week 6

(FOR THE WEEK OF OCT. 1-7)

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Noah Robinson, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Jr., D - Wappingers Falls, N.Y.)

Robinson scored three goals with a pair of game-winners in a 2-0 week for the Monks. The junior netted a pair of markers in a 4-0 victory at Anna Maria College on Saturday.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Brendan Germano, Norwich (Sr., GK - Monroe Township, N.J.)

Germano stopped all five shots he faced on the week to backstop the Cadets to two league victories over Regis and Johnson & Wales. Germano has posted three straight shutouts and has a consecutive minute shutout streak of over 450 minutes currently. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

DeAnte Anderson, St. Joseph (Conn.) (Fr., F - Bloomfield, Conn.)

Anderson powered the first-year Blue Jays to a 2-0 week in GNAC action with three goals and an assist. The rookie potted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, in a 3-2 triumph on the road at Lasell on Wednesday before adding his third marker of the week by converting a penalty kick in the opening minutes of an eventual 4-2 victory over Rivier at home on Saturday. Anderson would then tack on an assist to his stat line later in the first half against the Raiders to complete his seven-point week.


WEEK 6 HONOR ROLL
Jake Oullette, Lasell (Fr., M - East Granby, Conn.) - Scored two goals in an 0-2 week for the Lasers. Both of his goals came in the second half of a 3-2 GNAC loss to Saint Joseph (Conn.) as Lasell attempted a comeback after falling behind 3-0. 

Bienfait Badibanga, Norwich (Fr., F - Burlington, Vt.) - Badibanga had a goal and an assist to have a hand in both Norwich goals in a 2-0 win over Regis on Wednesday. He scored the game-winning goal in the win and extended his goal-scoring streak to three straight games. He had 14 points in a span of three games. 

Eric Badibanga, Norwich (Fr., M - Burlington, Vt.) - Badibanga scored the biggest goal of his collegiate career to lift Norwich to its biggest win of the season with the game-winning goal in the 49th minute vs. Johnson & Wales in a crucial battle for playoff positioning. Norwich is unbeaten in 12 straight games to start the season, which is the 2nd longest in program history. The Cadets are also unbeaten in their last 26 league reason games.
