GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #5

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Sarah Lachance, Rivier (Sr., A)

Senior Sarah Lachance led the way for Rivier in a 1-1 week as the Chelmsford, Mass. put up 15 points offensively along with 12 draw controls on the week for the Raiders. The senior attacker netted five goals in a non-conference contest against Salve Regina along with five draw controls before recording a 10-point outing in a GNAC win over Lasell, scoring four times while assisting on six goals. Lachance also collected three ground balls that game and seven draw controls. She is currently third in the GNAC in both assists (15) and points (36).

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Shea Cassani, Dean (So., GK)

Sophomore Shea Cassani was impressive at net for the Bulldogs as the Belgrade, Maine native stopped 16 shots for Dean in a 14-8 conference victory over Regis. Cassani leads the GNAC currently in save percentage (55.4%) and second in goals-against with 33.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Chloe Jennings, Mitchell (So., M)

Sophomore Chloe Jennings turned in a big week for the Mariners as the New London, Conn. native tallied 11 goals and two assists for 13 points, helping the Mariners to a 1-1 record. Jennings began the week with five goals, five draw controls, and three ground balls in a non-conference game against Wentworth and followed in Mitchell's 13-11 win over Albertus Magnus by scoring six times, assisting on two other goals, winning eight draw controls, causing four turnovers, and scooping three ground balls.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Soph Kuhlthau, Colby-Sawyer - Totaled eight goals and two assists for ten points in a 1-2 week for the Chargers. Also won 11 draw controls on the week total.

Dejaliyah Srimouksavanh, Emmanuel - Put up seven of 10 Emmanuel points in their lone game against Wheaton (Mass.) by scoring five times and assisting twice. Won five draw controls as well for the Saints.

Madeleine Gould, Johnson & Wales - scored nine goals last week - including seven in a road win against Colby-Sawyer - to lead JWU to a 1-1 week. Added 11 draw controls as well.

Ruby Cahill, Lasell - Put up nine points on seven goals and two assists as well as winning four draw controls and causing three turnovers for the Lasers in a 1-1 week.

Meadow Gilchrist, New England College - Tallied 13 points on 10 goals and three assists in two games this week for the Pilgrims and also adding 19 draw controls in a 1-1 week.

Bailey Manning-Ingala, Norwich - Tallied her fifth victory of the season in goal, making eight saves for a 57.1% save percentage to lead Norwich to victory against Regis.

Celia Melanson, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - scored 15 points, including 9 goals (81.8%) and 6 assists in a 2-0 week for the Monks. 

Frida Turriza, Simmons - Registered six goals for the Sharks while scooping up four ground balls and tallying two caused turnovers in a conference win over the University of Saint Joseph (Conn.).
