GNAC Women's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Mackenzie McDonald, New England College (Jr., A)

Junior attacker Mackenzie McDonald had a remarkable week, scoring 15 goals and making six assists for 21 points in a 3-0 week for NEC. McDonald scored four goals including the game-winner against UMaine-Farmington on Tuesday before scoring five times and assisting on four as part of a nine-point performance against Thomas. McDonald rounded out her week with a career-best six goals and chipped in two assists in their conference opener against Albertus Magnus. The junior converted on 57.7% of her shot attempts, collecting an 80.8 shot-on-goal percentage as well as collecting 14 draw controls and three caused turnovers.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Emma Glyman, Johnson & Wales (Sr., GK)

Senior goalie Emma Glyman posted a 85.7 save percentage for the Wildcats as the Tolland, Conn. native posted six saves while allowing only one goal in GNAC victory over Simmons.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Ashlynn Ledoux, Rivier (Fr., A)

First-year attacker Ashlynn Ledoux collected 10 points for the Raiders as the Hookset, N.H. native started her week strong with four goals and two points in a 14-9 victory over Vermont State Castleton before collecting a hat trick and an assist in a GNAC victory over Anna Maria. She shot 53.8% on the week with a shot-on-goal percentage of 92.3%.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Rose Finlayson, Colby-Sawyer - Had an excellent week for the Chargers powering them to a 2-0 week, powering nine goals for the team on 60% shooting and dishing out six assists against Mitchell which broke the programs single game record for most in a game.

Madeline Wright, Emmanuel - Collected nine goals on 50% as well as two assists for 11 points across a 2-1 week. Tallied four ground balls and 11 draw controls on the week as well.

Madeleine Gould, Johnson & Wales - Scored seven of JWU's 17 goals on 70% and assisted on one to collect eight points in the Wildcats conference victory over Simmons. The senior also won five draw controls.

Vivian Buntin, Norwich - Ripped in five goals and dishing out a helper to finish with six points on seven shots on goal, while helping the Cadets to their first GNAC victory of the season in their conference opener at Dean.

Audrey Mason, Regis - Powered the Pride to a 1-1 week, scoring seven goals and causing six turnovers against Elms. In the Pride's loss to UMass-Dartmouth, the sophomore tallied one goal before bouncing back with a career-high six goals in the Pride's thrilling 10-9 comeback win over Elms, including three goals in the fourth quarter. In that victory, she also scooped up four ground balls.

Kylie Coupal, Rivier - Made seven saves in each Rivier win as the Raiders went 2-0 (1-0 GNAC) last week.

Sarah Lachance, Rivier - Scored six goals to break the program record for points in a 14-9 non-conference win at VTSU Castleton with 13 draw controls, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Added three goals and six assists in the conference opener, a 16-6 win at Anna Maria. She broke the program record for draw controls with three against the AMCATS.
