GNAC Women's Volleyball Athlete of the Week Report #3

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Kamdyn Tenorio, Regis (Jr., OH/DS)

Junior Kamdyn Tenorio helped Regis pick up three non-conference victories this week, besting Worcester State, Salve Regina, and Husson. She recorded two double-doubles, starting with 12 kills and 20 digs against the Lancers on Tuesday (Sept. 12) followed by another dozen kill performance against the Seahawks. She also set a new career-high against Salve with 22 ups. She then played the first two sets in a 3-0 sweep of Husson in which she recorded three kills, six digs, and six service aces. For the week, she averaged 2.70 kills and 4.80 digs per set, while swinging at a .243 clip.

SETTER OF THE WEEK

Ahnasia Mckinney, Regis (Sr., S)

Senior Ahnasia Mckinney kept her strong play going this week, helping Regis go 3-0 in non-conference play. She averaged 7.30 assists per set, while also contributing 1.10 kills and 1.90 digs per set. She began the week with a double-double against Worcester State on Tuesday (Sept. 12), handing out 27 helpers and picking up 11 digs. She also had seven kills against the Lancers. She followed that up with her second-highest assist total for the season with 38 in a four-set win over Salve Regina on Saturday (Sept. 16). She played in two sets of a three-set sweep of Husson, recording eight more assists and five more digs. Included in Mckinney’s performance this week was a milestone as she passed the 900 assist mark.

LIBERO OF THE WEEK

Sam Holland, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Sr., L)

Senior libero Sam Holland averaged 5.67 digs per set this week, while adding eight aces in three victories for Saint Joseph’s (Maine) this week. She compiled three-straight double-digit dig performances, starting with 12 against Husson on Thursday (Sept. 14), playing three sets of a five-setter. She followed that up with 18 and 21 digs, respectively in GNAC sweeps of Norwich and Anna Maraia on Friday (Sept. 15).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Grace Fabiano, Regis (Fr., RS)

Freshman right side Grace Fabiano had a solid week for Regis as the Pride played to a perfect 3-0 record. She averaged 2.55 kills and 0.73 blocks per set, contributing to a 2.9 points per set average. After contributing seven kills to a four-set win over Worcester State on Tuesday (Sept. 12), she followed that up with back-to-back double-digit kill showings on Saturday (Sept. 16). She had a season-high 11 put downs against Salve Regina, while also adding four blocks to open the tri-match. She followed that up with 10 kills and four more blocks in a three-set sweep of Husson. Against the Eagles, Fabiano did not have an error and swung at a .526 rate. For the week, she had a .253 hitting percentage.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Amanda Zdru, Albertus Magnus - Averaged 6.00 digs per set, recording double-digit totals in each of Albertus Magnus's four matches. Recorded 26 pickups against Fisher, 18 against Elms, and 17 each against Bard and Purchase.

Skylar Raskevitz, Dean - Tallied an impressive 76 digs in four matches for a 5.43 digs per set average. Started the week with 10 digs against Mount Holyoke followed by a match-best 19 digs against Suffolk. Finished the week off with a strong showing in a GNAC tri-match. Came away with a match-high 15 digs against Rivier and tied a career-high with 32 digs in a 3-2 win over Mitchell. Also registered six aces and six assists for the week.

Jaylen Holman, Elms - Handed out 20 assists in a 3-0 conference sweep of Albertus Magnus. Also had four kills and five digs in the victory.

Maddie Caro, Lasell - Recorded 19 digs in a four-set non-conference victory over Westfield State, resulting in a 4.75 digs per set average. Also had eight assists and two service aces.

Sydney Katz, Lasell - Dished out 35 helpers in a 3-1 victory for Lasell against Westfield State. Also had 11 digs, two kills, and a block.

McKenna McCool, Lasell - Was solid in the Lasers only match of the week, putting down 18 kills and recording eight digs in four-set win over Westfield State. Also had two blocks in the contest and hada .368 hitting percentage.

Bliss Brown, Mitchell - Recorded double-digit kills in two of the three games for the Mariners, while notching double-digit digs in all three matches. Began the week with a 16-kill, 12-dig double-double against Eastern Connecticut State. Then recorded 20 kills and 28 digs in five-set loss to Dean. Closed out the week with eight kills, 23 assists, and 13 digs against Rivier. Averaged 3.38 kills, 4.08 digs, and 2.00 assists per set.

Savannah Pilialoha, New England College - Averaged 4.3 points per set for the week, including a 12-kill performance in the Pilgrims' three-set win at USJ on Saturday. Also had eight service aces in a 3-0 sweep against Vermont State Lyndon.

Gina Caraccio, Norwich - Handed out 76 assists over three games for the Cadets, including a career-best 40 helpers in Norwich's five-set victory over Anna Maria. Finished with 15 digs on the week, including 10 against Anna Maria. She had a kill in the win over Anna Maria, while also logging three service aces and a block assist on the week.

Sam Lebruska, Norwich - Tallied 24 kills on the week for the Cadets, including 12 in Norwich's five-set thriller over Anna Maria on Friday. Additionally, she recorded 40 digs, two assists, and three service aces, finishing with 27 points on the three-game week.

Victoria Briones, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - Averaged 2.92 kills and 3.23 digs per set while posting a .253 attack percentage in a 3-1 week for the Monks. Notched a double-double with 11 kills and 10 digs in a 3-0 win over Anna Maria and delivered nine kills the team's three other matches during the week.

Sam Holland, Saint Joseph's (Maine) - averaged 5.67 digs per set and added eight service aces in three SJC victories last week. The senior captain picked up 39 total digs in a GNAC tri-match sweep over Norwich and Anna Maria on Friday.

Carolina Rodriguez, Simmons - Registered 4.85 digs per set, tallying 63 digs over the course of a three-game week. Eclipsed her career single-game high, recording 25 digs against non-conference foe Salve Regina. Then notched another 25 digs on the road in another five-set match against Smith.

Chelsea Simmons, Simmons - Posted a solid .296 attack percentage with 29 kills on 81 attempts over the course of the three-match week. Early in the week, Simmons notched her second triple-double of the season, tallying 17 kills with 28 assists and 13 digs against Salve Regina. Closed out the week notching a double-double with 12 kills and 20 assists against Smith College on the road.

Ryan Hicks, Rivier - Handed out 58 assists over seven sets (8.29 assists per set) to helped the Raiders hit at a combined .248 in a 2-0 day over conference opponents. Dished out 22 helpers in a sweep of Dean, while adding an ace, a solo block, and two digs. Recorded 36 assists, eight digs, two aces, and two kills in the four-set win over Mitchell.

Sofia Pawlusik, Rivier - Dug 34 balls over seven sets of action, good for 4.86 digs per set. Was also big on serve receive, making just five errors on 42 opportunities.
