BOSTON, Mass. – Emmanuel College senior guard Yuleska Ramirez-Tejeda (Cambridge, Mass.) has been named a D3hoops.com All-American for her performance on the court during the 2019-20 NCAA Division III women's basketball season, it was announced on the Hoopsville show produced by the D3hoops.com team on Tuesday, March 24.

This honor comes on the heels of her CoSIDA Academic All-American recognition earlier this month making her one of just seven players to earn both D3hoops and CoSIDA All-American honors this season.

"Throughout her outstanding career at Emmanuel, Yuleska has exemplified what it means to be a true student athlete," said Head Coach Andy Yosinoff. "She leaves behind a legacy and a great example for all future student-athletes."

This is the 23rd annual iteration of the national awards that are chosen by the D3hoops staff. Four teams are chosen as well as a group of honorable mentions. Ramirez-Tejeda was named a Second Team All-American after previously being tabbed to the D3hoops.com Preseason All-American Fourth Team earlier this year. She becomes the sixth All-American in EC Women's Basketball history joining Lesa Dennis '88, Marcy Tillman '02, Jade Paez '07, Iman Davis '10, and Fiona O'Dwyer '13). Dennis earned First Team honors, Tillman Second Team, O'Dwyer Third Team while Paez and Davis were Honorable Mentions.

The Cambridge, Mass. native was the only player selected from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), though the conference has been well represented of late marking the second consecutive year a GNAC women's basketball player has earned All-American honors.  Ramirez-Tejeda follows Saint Joseph's College guard Kelsey McNamara '19 who earned Second Team All-American honors last year (2018-19). Ramirez-Tejeda is one of only four All-Americans selected from institutions located in Massachusetts and one of five players from schools based in New England joining Erica DeCandido (Tufts), Maddie Hasson (Bowdoin), Hannah Fox (Amherst) and Madeline Eck (Amherst) on this year's All-American squad.

Ramirez-Tejeda certainly left her mark in the Saints record books finishing her three-year career at Emmanuel ranked third overall in points (1,596) and second in rebounds (935).

The senior earns All-American honors after averaging 19.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.8 steals per game while shooting 48.5% (238-491) from the field during the 2019-20 season. She ranks first in NCAA DIII Women's Basketball in double-doubles (23), fifth in rebounds (347) and offensive rebounds per game (5.4), and 15th in points (559).

This winter, the three-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) First Team All-Conference selection established a new Emmanuel single-season rebounding standard at 347 boards. The 2020 GNAC Player of the Year also owns the EC single-season scoring record with 626 points from the 2018-19 campaign.

Ramirez-Tejeda capped her senior campaign with 56 career double-doubles over just three seasons to rank sixth all-time for players with only three playing seasons and 31st all-time among NCAA Division III women's hoopsters.

Over her Emmanuel career, the Saints posted an overall record of 65-21 (.756), including a 35-4 (.897) record in GNAC play. Ramirez-Tejeda led Emmanuel to back-to-back GNAC Championships in 2019 and 2020 to bring the program's total up to 20 NCAA tournament berths this season.
