Karle Nets 1,000th Career Point in Albertus Magnus Win Over Pine Manor

Led by 19 points from senior Lindsay Karle (Wallingford, Conn.), who scored her 1,000th career point, the Albertus Magnus women's basketball team handed Pine Manor College its first loss of the season with a 100-89 win on Monday night in non-conference action.

At the 12:41 mark of the first half, Karle knocked down her second three-pointer of the game to give the senior eight on the night for her 1,000th career point as a Falcon.  She becomes the 11th women's basketball player in program history to earn that milestone.  Karle now has 1,011 career points, moving her to 10th on the all-time list, edging Tara Cruz' '05 tally of 1,010.

In tonight's contest, the Falcons started off strong despite giving the Gators a four-point lead four minutes into the game.  The four-point lead was their largest of the night.  Albertus answered back with stellar shooting from behind the arc as the Falcons' shot 70%, a 7-of-10 showing, from three-point land in the opening frame.

The Falcons finished the first half with a 50-40 lead as they shot 47.5% from the floor.  The Falcons' struggled in the second half as they shot 1-of-7 from behind the arc but made 21 of their 23 attempts on the free-throw line, good for a 91.3 percentage.

Albertus held on to its steady lead in the second half before taking its largest lead of the night with 4:50 to go in the contest with a 16-point lead.

Albertus held a slight 50-48 edge in rebounds on the night.

Annie Raucci (Milford, Conn.) finished the night with a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds for one of her best games of her career. Her 22 points marked a career-high, while she was two rebounds shy of her career-high in that category.  Karle finished the night 7-of-13 from the field, including a 5-of-8 performance from behind the arc.

Pine Manor was led by Ari DeJesus with 26 points and 13 rebounds and Alexis Lee with 21 points.
