GNAC Sweeps ECAC Division III New England Softball Weekly Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. – This week's GNAC student-athletes named the Softball Player, Pitcher and Rookie of the Week have also received Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) weekly recognition, as announced by the ECAC office on Tuesday

Johnson & Wales University sophomore Emily Gorecki was named the ECAC Division III New England Co-Player of the Week, along with Wheaton junior Emma Hart, while Emmanuel College junior Jill Kilcoyne was honored as the ECAC Pitcher of the Week and Suffolk University freshman Devlin Frost was crowned ECAC Rookie of the Week. 

Gorecki (pictured) hit .526 (10-for-19) with a .545 on-base percentage, and slugged 1.316 in a 4-2 week for the Wildcats. Nine of her 10 hits went for extra bases, as she had six doubles and three home runs with 14 RBI and five runs scored.

Kilcoyne was dominant in the circle, posting a 3-0 record while recording 38 strikeouts in 21 innings with a 0.33 ERA. The sophomore flirted with three no-hit bids, including complete game shutouts against Rivier and Simmons, in which she allowed just one hit. The hurler also posted a victory over Johnson & Wales, posting 13 strikeouts against the Wildcats while allowing just two hits.

Frost hit .556 (10-18) over three GNAC doubleheader sweeps with two home runs, 10 RBI and four runs scored. She also posted a .600 OBP and 1.056 slugging mark. Frost hit a homer and drove in three in each of Suffolk's two victories on Thursday over Rivier and was 3-for-5 with three RBI in a sweep of Lasell on Saturday.
