Player of the Week
Abby Belcher (Winthrop, Mass.), Senior, SS, Norwich University
Belcher helped lead the Cadets to a 6-2 week going 12-for-24 at the plate for a .500 batting average. She blasted three home runs and tallied seven RBIs to go along with six walks for on-base percentage of .600 and a slugging percentage of .875. She ranks seventh in the GNAC with a .455 overall average and fourth in slugging percentage .745.
Pitcher of the Week
Corrine Baita (Rochester, N.H.), Junior, Pitcher, Norwich University
Baita was brilliant in the circle for the Cadets on the week, posting a 5-1 record and surrendering just three earned runs in 29 innings pitched. She fired two complete-game two-hit shutouts to lead Norwich to wins over Mount Ida and Lasell on Tuesday and Wednesday. She then picked up both victories against Rivier and Mount Ida after coming on in relief of Kaylie Miller and Taylor Morris in the first games and then going the distance in Game 2 both times. Baita was also perfect fielding her position on the week with 11 assists and one put out for a 1.000 fielding percentage.
Shaylyn Freitas (Pelham, N.H.), Freshman, INF, Rivier University
Freitas hit an incredible .733 on the week (11-15) including five extra base hits for the Raiders. The rookie drove in seven runs while scoring four and slugged 1.400 on the week. Freitas produced a gaudy .733 on base percentage and also posted a .900 fielding percentage for Rivier.
