Player of the Week
Erin McAndrews (Marblehead, Mass.), Senior, C/INF, Suffolk University
Nine of McAndrews' 16 hits on the week were for extra bases. McAndrews had back-to-back games where she went 4-for-4 at the plate, including Suffolk's 7-2 victory over Geneva where she finished with 4 RBI and just a home run shy of the cycle. McAndrews finished the week hitting at a .571 clip while slugging 1.036.
Pitcher of the Week
Rae-Marie Copan (Newton, Mass.), Senior, RHP, Saint Joseph's College (ME)
Copan maintained her ace status by winning all four of her starts in Fort Myers last week. The senior pitcher fanned 18 batters while allowing just one walk over 29 innings and struck out eight in a win over UMass.-Dartmouth on Saturday.
Michele MacDonald (North Dighton, Mass.), Freshman, OF, Mount Ida College
MacDonald had a torrid start to her freshman season during the Mustang's week in Florida. She went 15-29 over eight games at the plate, for a .517 batting average, and two triples and a double helped her slug a team-high .690. She showed off her speed on the basepaths as well, stealing six bases without being caught, and led the team with nine runs scored. Her best day was the first of the trip, when over two games, she went 5-7 with two runs scored and two stolen bases.
