Lynn Herman (Emerson), Taylor Cournoyer (Rivier), and Monica White (Rivier) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Softball Weekly Honors.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Lynn Herman, Emerson, Jr., Boca Raton, F.L.

Herman tied two NCAA Division III softball single game records when she hit 4 home runs in a game and 2 homeruns in an inning on March 20 against Albertus Magnus.  Herman had a .733 batting average and a slugging percentage of 1.000 for the week.  She also had a double and ripped 6 singles, leading Emerson to doubleheader sweeps of Albertus Magnus, 14-0 and 28-0, on March 20 and St. Joseph’s (ME), 8-0 and 6-2, on March 21.  Emerson is currently tied for 1st place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 4-0 and an overall record of 9-5.  The Lions plays their first home games of the season when they face Norwich on March 27 and Lasell on March 28.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Taylor Cournoyer, Rivier, Fr., Mansfield, Mass.

In a perfect 4-0 week for Rivier, Cournoyer played flawless defense at shortstop, making several outs from deep in the hole.  Offensively, she had 6 RBIs in just 4 games.  Cournoyer currently leads the Raiders in batting average (.475), hits (19), RBIs (13), doubles (4), triples (1), total bases (28), and at bats (40).  Rivier defeated Simmons, 9-0 and 3-2, on March 20 and Johnson & Wales, 10-2 and 12-0, on March 21.  The Raiders are currently tied for 1st place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 4-0 and an overall record of 10-1.  Rivier’s next game is on March 26 when they take on Suffolk.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK

White went a perfect 3-0 in Rivier’s opening weekend of conference play, including pitching two big wins over Simmons, 9-0 and 3-2, on March 20.  She struck out 27 batters in 20 innings pitched, while yielding just 7 hits and no earned runs.  This is the second week in a row that White has been named as the GNAC Softball Pitcher of the Week.  White currently leads the Raiders pitching staff in wins (8), innings pitched (58.00), strikeouts (99), appearances (10), games started (6), games finished (4), games in relief (4), and batters struck out looking (17).  Rivier also defeated Johnson & Wales, 10-2 and 12-0, on March 21.  The Raiders are currently tied for 1st place in the GNAC, with a conference record of 4-0 and an overall record of 10-1.  Rivier’s next game is on March 26 when they take on Suffolk.
