GNAC Recognizes 2023 Men’s Cross Country Award Winners

WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) formally recognized its 2023 Men’s Cross Country All-Conference teams and major award winners on Wednesday morning. The student-athlete awards were based on the results of the GNAC Men’s Cross Country Championship on Saturday (Nov. 4).

Additionally, in the days following the event, the league’s 12 men’s cross country coaches cast ballots for the Coach of the Year and Institutional Sportsmanship awards.

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) Jacob Pelletier took home both major awards as the Runner and Rookie of the Year as he placed first overall in the 8K championship. The sophomore who is in his first year competing in intercollegiate cross country crossed the finish line in 27:54 to take the individual title. His performance also helped the Monks capture the GNAC team title.

Following the meet, Monks head coach Tom Dann was voted Coach of the Year, while Regis earned the Institutional Sportsmanship Award.

Below is the list of All-Conference and All-Sportsmanship Team honorees. The top seven finishers were named to the All-GNAC First Team, while finishers eight through 14 earned Second Team honors.
