TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Abdirizak Abukar, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (So.)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) sophomore Abdirizak Abukar opened up his outdoor season with a event victory at the SNHU Spring Invitational. He took first place in the 200m dash with a time of 22.62. He was also part of the Monks’ 4x100m relay team that placed second with a time of 43.08.

FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Dylan Dickey, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Jr.)

Junior Dylan Dickey produced an impressive heave in the javelin for Saint Joseph’s (Maine) at the SNHU Spring Invitational as the Monks opened their outdoor season this weekend. He placed second in the event with a mark of 58.01m (190’4”), which places him at 17th on the NCAA Division III Outdoor Qualifying List. He also competed in the discus, placing eighth with a throw of 34.20m (112’2”).

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Haytham Ramadan, Saint Joseph’s (Maine) (Fr.)

Saint Joseph’s (Maine) freshman Haytham Ramadan set a new program record in the 800m run at the SNHU Spring Invitational this weekend, finishing with a time of 1:59.28. He placed third in the event. He was also part of the school’s 4x400m relay, which set a program record with a time of 3:25.71.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Pierre Paul Labossiere, Emmanuel - Jumped 12.28m (40' 3.5") in the triple jump, while clearing the high jump at 1.78m (5'10") for a pair of podium finishes.

Justin Thuotte, Regis - Finished fifth in the long jump with a mark of 6.16m (20'2.5") and sixth in the triple jump at 12.51m (41'0.5"). Also cleared 3.65m (11'11.75") in the pole vault, a personal outdoor-best mark, to end up in a tie for seventh place. Came within a half-meter of his personal-best javelin throw with a mark of 36.91m (121'1").
