MAHWAH, N.J. – The Ramapo College men's tennis team defeated Regis (Mass.), 5-1, on Saturday in the 2018 GNAC Championship match-up on the Mahwah campus. With their sixth straight championship, the Roadrunners earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Roadrunners went up, 2-1 after doubles match-ups and with Willen Feygin taking first singles 6-3, 6-0, Mike Abelev taking third singles, 6-2, 6-3 and Cal Caccisquida earning a 6-2, 7-5 win at sixth singles, the Roadrunners would earn the 5-1 victory.
Ramapo now awaits news on its pairing in the NCAA Championship Tournament.
Feygin was named GNAC Tournament Most Valuable Player while Abelev and Cacciaquida were named to the All-Tournament team. For Regis, Luke Horton (Bass Harbor, Maine) and Johnny Pallotta (Bay Shore, N.Y.) were recognized as all-tournament team selections. Also earning 2018 All-Tournament recognition was JWU's Ryan Schiele and Rutgers-Newark's Brandon Davis.
