GNAC Men's Lacrosse Report: Week 7

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Michael Ference, Rivier (Jr., A - Salem, N.H.) - Managed to find the back of the net twice in both conference wins this past week despite being double-teamed during the majority of his possessions. Embraced the extra attention from the defense and turned it into finding the open man, as he racked up 15 assists in two games. Ended the week with 19 points on his four goals and 15 assists.

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Sawyer Gagnon, Rivier (Jr., G - Gorham, Maine) - Played well against the Wildcats of JWU, helping the Raiders pick up another conference win after making 12 saves on 18 shots faced. Finished with game with a 66.7 save percentage in 60 minutes.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Tiger Hopkins, Saint Joseph's (Maine) (Fr,, A - Leeds, Maine) - Tallied seven points with five goals and two assists in a 16-15 overtime victory over the University of Saint Joseph on Friday afternoon. The freshman attack hit pay dirt on five of seven shot attempts in the key conference triumph.


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Mitchell McKay, Norwich (Jr, A - Lynnfield, Mass.) - Led the Cadets in Norwich's rout of Albertus Magnus this past week, logging a career-best six points behind four goals and two assists. His four goals came in a five-minute window in the first quarter, allowing the Cadets to separate themselves from the Falcons quickly. Also scooped up a ground ball and had a 71.4% shots on goal mark.

Jack Tauson, Lasell (Fr., A - Northbridge, Mass.) - Reigstered 12 points in two victories for the Lasers. Opened the week with a goal and four assists against Albertus before recording three goals and three assists against Regis. Also had a solid defensive week with seven ground balls and two caused turnovers.
