BOSTON, Mass. – The Emmanuel College men's lacrosse team is excited to partner with Team Cork this season to raise awareness and funds for cancer patients. The fundraiser will take place on Saturday, April 6 when Emmanuel takes on Hartwick College in the program's first-ever Team Cork Game. The Saints will don official Team Cork jerseys and then following the contest, the jerseys will be auctioned off in a silent auction back in the Jean Yawkey Center to raise funds for Team Cork and its mission.

Team Cork is dedicated to raising awareness, encouraging people to reach out and support cancer patients, and to raise money to support programs that benefit cancer patients.  The organization's long-term objectives are to establish wellness programs and a network of volunteers to provide support services, free of charge, to cancer patients, and their providers, during their battle with cancer.

In partnership with Team Cork, 100 percent of the money raised will go directly towards their mission. Since its inception, Team Cork has raised upwards of $50K in support of cancer patients in need. They are a registered 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization that was established in 2016 by the Curtis family to provide a friend and support to cancer patients in need.

Former USILA All-American and Emmanuel College Men's Lacrosse standout Chris Curtis '16 has been an integral part of Team Cork since it's inception and is thrilled that the Saints will join the Team Cork family this season.

"Team Cork Inc. has been an incredibly fulfilling venture since our inception in 2016," said Curtis. "Our ability to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients in need over the past three years has meant the world to both myself and my family. We cannot thank the Emmanuel Athletic department enough for this opportunity and we look forward to seeing what the future holds for Team Cork."

Team Cork has worked with countless of athletes, teams, and communities nationwide and created a wonderful program called Team Cork Wellness Weekends to benefit and aid cancer patients. The Wellness Weekend program, which provides complementary therapies and support to cancer patients and their primary caregivers, started in June of 2018 when Team Cork partnered with the Metrowest Medical Center.  Team Cork assembled a team of gifted practitioners who volunteer their time and talents to provide following services, free of charge, to cancer patients and their caregivers with services that include but are not limited to Oncology Massage, Reiki, Cranio Sacral Therapy, Yoga, Acupressure, Qi-gong, Meditation, Reflexology, Social and Emotional Support.
