Emmanuel Earns Top Seed in 2015 GNAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament

Saints complete league schedule unbeaten at 8-0

WINTHROP, Mass. – Emmanuel College has earned the top seed in next week's GNAC Men's Lacrosse Tournament after the Saints completed its conference schedule with an 8-0 mark.

The regular-season champs, along with second-seeded Mount Ida College (7-1), will receive byes into the GNAC semifinals, which will take place on Thursday, April 23.

In first-round action on Tuesday, April 21, third-seeded Johnson & Wales University (5-3) will host sixth-seeded Norwich University (4-4) at 7:00 p.m., while fourth-seeded Lasell College (5-3) welcomes fifth-seeded Rivier University (4-4) at 3:30 p.m.

Tuesday's Norwich-JWU winner will travel to Mount Ida in Thursday's semifinals, while the victor in the Rivier-Lasell contest will travel to take on Emmanuel.

The 2015 GNAC title contest is scheduled for Saturday, April 25 at the highest remaining seed.

Founded in 1995, the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) is an NCAA Division III association made up of 12 member institutions and over 3,000 student-athletes across the New England region. Each year, the GNAC sponsors and administers 17 championships, while balancing academic integrity, athletic opportunities and community involvement.

First Round - Tuesday, April 21
Game 1: #5 Rivier at #4 Lasell - 3:30 p.m.
Game 2: #6 Norwich at #3 Johnson & Wales - 7:00 p.m.

Semifinals - Thursday, April 23
Game 3: Game 1 winner at #1 Emmanuel - 7:00 p.m.
Game 4: Game 2 winner at #2 Mount Ida - 3:30 p.m.

Championship - Saturday, April 25
Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner
