GNAC Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors: April 4, 2011

Joe Galante (Norwich), Mark Paradiso (Norwich), and Max Smith (Emerson) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference’s Men’s Lacrosse Weekly Honors.

 

 

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Joe Galante, Norwich, So., Framingham, MA

Norwich’s sophomore, Joe Galante, led the Cadets with 8 points on the week, tallying 6 goals and two assists. His top performance of the week came when he scored the game winner in the GNAC conference victory, 10-9, over Becker College. Additionally, Galante added four goals and an assist in the monumental win over Becker.

 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Max Smith, Emerson, Fr., Gillette, NJ

Emerson’s rookie, Max Smith, led the Lions in scoring this week with five goals in two games, placing 10 of his 19 shots on goal. Additionally, Smith scooped up nine ground balls and was 13-22 (.571) on face offs.

 

GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK

Mark Paradiso, Norwich, Fr., Westford, MA

Norwich’s freshman, Mark Paradiso, had two impressive performances this week. The first came with his off the bench performance against Castleton, where he saw 15 minutes in net and deflected four shots on goal. He earned his first collegiate start and victory in the conference game against Becker. In the win, Paradio made 10 saves and collected five ground balls. On the week, Paradiso finished with a GAA of 19.2 while accomplishing a .540 save percentage.
