RIC Captures Fifth Straight GNAC Men's Golf Championship

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - Rhode Island College shot a collective 635 to claim their fifth straight team title at the 2015 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Golf Championship on Sunday afternoon at the Allendale Country Club.

Worcester State University was the runner-up with a 644, while host University os Massachusetts Dartmouth finished third with a 649. Johnson & Wales University shot a 654 and Saint Joseph's College of Maine shot a 664 to round out the top-five. For the complete team standings, please see below. 

RIC freshman Tom Sheran shot a 78-77--155 to receive medalist honors, and as a result earned GNAC Player and Rookie of the Year honors. 

RIC senior Jonathan Cooper, who earned medalist honors at last year's GNAC Championship, finished in a three-way tie for second place individually with a 157. Also carding 157's were Worcester State's Steven Ferraro and JWU's Jon Nelson

Worcester State teammates Jackson Davis and Mike Jezierski both shot a two-day 158 to finish in a tie for fifth.

Sheran, Cooper, Ferraro, Nelson, Davis and Jezierski all garnered GNAC All-Conference honors with their performances at Allendale over the weekend.
