2010-2011 GNAC Swimmers of the Year Announced

Elms College swept this year's GNAC swimming awards with Tessa Dudunake earning Swimmer of the Year, Devon DeGrazia taking Rookie of the Year, and Head Coach Bill Tyler as GNAC Coach of the Year.

 

Swimmer of the Year – Tessa Dudunake, So., Elms College

Tessa Dudunake, the GNAC 2010 - 2011 Swimmer of the Year, finished her season at the NESISDA championship earning three top ten finishes in her individual events. The sophomore broke two school records at Elm's College with her time of 1:03.41 in the 100-yard IM, and 25.80 in the 50- yard freestyle. Dudunake was a key member of the top four 10 relay squads, establishing a new school mark. Throughout the season, Dudunake was named twice as GNAC swimmer of the week.

Rookie of the Year - Devon DeGrazia, Elms College

Devon DeGrazia was named the 2011 GNAC Rookie of the Year for her consistent success throughout the season. During the GNAC championship, DeGrazia earned four first place finishes, and set new GNAC records in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:05.66, and the 100-yard freestyle in 55.92.  She set the Elm's school record in the 500-yard freestyle with 5:36.01 and GNAC Simmon's College pool record for her 50-yard backstroke as part of the 200-yard medley with a time of 29.23.  DeGrazia's hard work and accomplishments earned her recognition as 3-time GNAC Swimmer of the Week.
