Women's Tennis Doubled Up by Lesley

MILTON, Mass. - The Curry College women's tennis team suffered its second defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon, falling to Lesley University by a final score of 6-3 at the Trent J. Scott '96 Tennis Courts.

With the defeat, Curry falls to 0-2 overall on the season, while the Lynx improve to 2-1.

In doubles play, Lesley jumped out to a 2-1 lead by winning at the first and third flights, but Curry's sophomore tandem of Cayla Osowski (Westfield, Mass.) and Grace Coopee (Hampden, Mass.) secured a point for the hosts winning 8-7 (7-1 tiebreaker).

Coopee moved to a perfect 4-0 on the season with a 7-6 (7-4), 6-0 win at fourth singles, and freshman Esme Lehner (Annapolis, Md.) stayed unbeaten in singles with a 6-4, 6-0 victory at the fifth position. Lesley prevailed at singles flights one, two, three, and six however to secure the match.

Next up for the Colonels, they will open Commonwealth Coast Conference play on Wednesday at home against Roger Williams. First serves in doubles play will take place at 3:30 p.m.
