Men's Tennis Downs Johnson & Wales, 8-1

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Bridgewater State College men's tennis team posted an 8-1 triumph over Johnson & Wales University in a non-conference match on Monday afternoon.

The Bears (5-4) won all three doubles matches and took five of the six singles flights to come away with the victory over the Wildcats (3-8).

Matt Mailhot (Oxford, MA), Adam Laithy (North Smithfield, RI), Justin Lipomi (Lowell, MA), Nicholas Amrose (Arlington, MA) and Nicholas Desisto (Uxbridge, MA) were all singles winners for the Bears.

Mailhot and Mike Zagame (Uxbridge, MA) teamed for an 8-3 triumph at first doubles, while Laithy and Amrose posted an 8-3 win at the second flight.  Lipomi and Greg Sheedy (South Dennis, MA) rounded out the doubles results as they paired up for an 8-3 victory at number three.

Bridgewater State will trave to UMass Boston on Tuesday for a Little East Conference match with the Beacons.
