GAMEE OVERVIEW:

WESTON, Mass.— Lesley Men's soccer used two goals in the final 10 minutes of play to take a 2-1 win over Regis College on Friday afternoon at Regis Stadium. The Lynx used two goals, separated by just two minutes and 48 seconds to leap in front of Regis during opening win.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE:

•  Regis started the first half on the front foot, pinning the Lynx inside its own half for the majority of the first 25 minutes. During that time, Regis created a few chances testing the Lesley keeper David Crutchfield (Shrewsbury, Mass.) on three occasions.
• The Pride increased the pressure, nearly scoring the opening goal in the dying seconds of the half. A tangle in the box lead to a Regis student-athlete finding the back of the net with one second remaining on the clock.
• However, the goal was chalked off after the referee conferred with the far linesmen, who deemed offside in the build-up to the goal. Lesley held off the Pride to take a 0-0 score line into halftime. Regis outshot the Lynx 9-1 in the opening 45 minutes.
• Regis would find the breakthrough a few minutes after the restart from a Ceser Da Silva free kick. After a Lynx foul in the center of the field just outside the penalty box, Da Silva curled his shot into the back of the net giving the Pride a 1-0 lead.
• Lesley would respond with increasing the pressure on the Pride defense. Three shots on target and a chance from a corner tested the Regis backline. Regis had the chance to extend its advantage a few minutes later after a foul in the Lesley penalty area. The subsequent penalty was saved, with Crutchfield diving to his left turning it around the post.
• Lesley would sink a goal with 10 minutes to play. A long ball over the top put Jack Wadleigh (Glastonbury, Conn.)  through on goal, slotting the ball past the oncoming Regis keeper, Ivan Ramirez, 1-1.
• The Lynx would add another goal just a few minutes later to take a 2-1 advantage. Wadleigh played in Shane Rockenbach (Long Beach, Cailf.), who made an overlapping run, with his effort nicking the far post and bouncing in from a tight angle. Lesley would prevail in the end walking away with a 2-1 victory.
• All of Lesley's seven shots on goal came in the second half, and the Lynx were out shot on the day 23 (9) -10 (7). Crutchfield ended the game with eight saves, including the crucial penalty stop, for his first win of the season.
