NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Albertus Magnus College men's soccer team battled Norwich University tough in road Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday night, but was handed a 2-1 setback by the Cadets.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Norwich took control of the contest early, going ahead 1-0 in the 3rd minute. Amerle Nemeye scored the goal with an assist from Matteo Iagrossi.

The Cadets built their lead to 2-0 with a tally from Hunter Lortie in the 44th minute. This score stood as Norwich's final goal of the game. Albertus held the Cadets to just nine shots for the remainder of the contest.

The Falcons made things interesting late in the bout, as they cut the score to 2-1 with a penalty kick goal by Salah Oumorou (West Haven, Conn.) in the 88th minute. Abdoul Aremu (West Haven, Conn.) dribbled toward the goal and was tripped up in the box, which led to the Oumorou penalty shot.

Unfortunately for the Falcons, this would be their final chance, as they were reserved to take the hard-fought 2-1 GNAC loss.

• Ten Cadets finished the evening with a shot.

NOTEWORTHY
• With the loss, the Falcons sit tied for fourth in the GNAC standings with 12 points.
• Norwich, on the other hand, is third in the conference with 16 points.
• Oumorou continues to lead the GNAC with 31 points and 13 goals on the year.
• Oumorou is two points and three goals shy of setting new career highs in both categories.
• Despite taking the loss, Garfield Robinson (West Haven, Conn.) continued his six-game streak of allowing two-or-less goals.
