CLERMONT, Fla. — Senior Amanda Lahti and sophomore Jenna Hollar led the Ohio Northern softball team past Webster (Mo.) 13-6 and Johnson & Wales (R.I.) 9-1 Friday evening at the National Training Center in Clermont, Fla.
Lahti went 4-for-7 with seven RBI's, while Hollar finished the day 4-for-7 with three RBI's and five stolen bases.
Hollar moves into sixth all-time in ONU career history in stolen bases with 46.
In the contest with Webster, the Polar Bears recorded 12 hits, scoring 13 runs.
Webster would score first in the contest, scoring four runs in the top of the first inning before the Northern offense would go to work.
In the bottom half of the inning, Lahti would drive in two runs as she doubled to left center cutting the deficit to 4-2.
Lahti would later score on a throwing error by the Webster catcher, making the score 4-3 after one inning of play.
Webster scored its final two runs of the contest in the top of the second, as Northern would use a seven run sixth inning to defeat Johnson & Wales 9-1.
In game two, the Polar Bears would finally plate a run in the top of the fourth as Lahti tripled to right center scoring freshman Kylie Asmus.
Senior Tessa Topp would follow-up Lahti with a double, scoring ONU's second run of the inning and putting the Polar Bears on top 2-0.
Sophomore Kirsten Lightel would go to work on the mound striking out nine and surrendering just three hits to Johnson & Wales in the contest.
Northern would plate seven more runs in the sixth inning as Lahti would once again lead off the inning for the Polar Bears with an RBI single to center.
With the bases loaded, Hollar would triple to left center clearing the bases and plating the games final run.
