GNAC Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week Report #13

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Antonio Bonilla, Albertus Magnus (Sr., G)

Senior guard Antonio Bonilla went off from the three-point line in 23 minutes of action in a blowout victory over Anna Maria on Wednesday (Feb. 7). Bonilla erupted for 42 points on a program-record 11 threes on 20 attempts while also grabbing three rebounds and collecting four steals on the defensive side of the ball. On Saturday (Feb. 10), the senior put up 18 points and seven rebounds in a victory over Regis. He put up 30 points per game on 56/50/100 shooting splits while snagging down five boards and collecting 2.5 steals per contest, giving the Falcons an undefeated week. 

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Elijah Miller, Mitchell (Fr., G)

First-year guard Elijah Miller played well on both ends of the floor for the Mariners. Miller averaged 15.5 points, 11 rebounds, 5.5 assists, four steals, and 1.5 blocks in two games. The first-year put up a double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds while also flirting with a quadruple-double collecting eight assists and seven steals in double-overtime vs. Dean on Wednesday (Feb. 7). He followed up with a double-double (13 points and 10 boards) against Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday (Feb. 10).


WEEKLY HONOR ROLL

Chaz Cullum, Colby-Sawyer – Averaged 22.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game. Was close to a double-double with 18 points and nine boards while also dishing out four dimes vs Rivier. Followed up against Emmanuel with a career-high 27 points to go with eight rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

AJ Weston, Dean – Averaged 34.5 points per game with five rebounds and three assists. Scored 37 points on 12-for-18 shooting and hit the game-winning free throws in a double-overtime victory over Mitchell. Followed up with a 32 point, seven board, and four assist game in a triple-overtime victory over Rivier.

Donte Pope, Emmanuel – Had 21 points and six rebounds against Saint Joseph's (Maine). Followed up with a 30 point, five rebound, and three assist game in a victory over Colby-Sawyer. Averaged 25.5 points on 60.7 percent (17-for-28) and 5.5 rebounds.

Omarion Jett, Norwich – Chipped in 19 points and five boards in a win over New England College. Proceeded to flirt with a double-double in another victory over Lasell with 25 points and nine rebounds. Averaged 22 points and seven rebounds a game in both games this week.

Odarius Cade, Rivier – Collected his 1000th career point against Dean. Finished the day with 33 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Averaged 23 points, five boards, and 1.5 steals per game this week.
